If I could give more stars, I would! Jason was AMAZING! Do yourself a favor a book this guide. Without Jason, we would have walked right past everything. We saw monkeys, a sloth, numerous types of lizards, bats, a venomous snake, etc! We did the 10:30 tour. Wonderful experience!!
★★★★★
Our guide JASON was there 10 minutes before our tour began and he met us near the Chalo parking lot, to give us the rundown of what to expect and to go over the park rules. Right from the start you could tell that he was passionate about what he does because he was just as excited and happy as we were to be on the tour. We began our tour with a little history lesson about the Costarican Republic. He taught us a few words like Puravida and Tuanis ( too nice). We saw different wildlife along the way. Jason was knowledgeable, patient and funny. He made the tour cool. Some of the species we saw were two ‘Fer-de-Lance’ snakes, Jesus Christ lizard( common basilisk), Masked tree frog, Toucanets, Leaf nose bats, howler and capuchin monkeys, SLOTHS, brown tree snake, crowned wood nymph, giant red winged grasshopper, green anole lizard. Best walking tour 100% lasting almost 3 hours. Totally worth the price and JASON gave us all the pictures and videos for free. Thank you Jason. PURA VIDA.

Jason was the ultimate professional and very knowledgeable of everything in the park and life. If you want to see what the wildlife of Costa Rica has to offer and learn the real history of the National Park book with him now.

Jason was very knowledgeable and professional in this tour. He engaged with every member of our group, answered all our questions. We have over a hundred pictures of Costa Rican wildlife! Did I mentioned we saw an Anteater 😍
★★★★★
Jason birding tour: 10/10. We had an AMAZING day with Jason exploring Corcovado NP and several other spots nearby. I have done a few birding specific tours: Jason is the best and funniest guide I have ever had the privilege of joining. We got some amazing pics and videos through the scope. He was absolutely first class: extremely knowledgeable on the birds and excellent at spotting, uber friendly and charismatic and a wonderful host (kept us well fed and watered etc). Wonderful day. Book a tour: you won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience with fantastic guide! Our guide, Jason, was amazing: professional, knowledgeable, patient, and a natural born comedian. We saw all kinds of lizards, land crabs, hummingbirds, bats, monkeys, and sloths. Jason sent us all the photos and videos he captured. Loved our time. Bring your bathing suits because the way back to the park entrance post tour travels along the coast. Plenty of wonderful beach to enjoy. There is also a place to eat and drink in the park at the tour’s end. Thanks Wakoo Tours and thanks Jason! Well done!
★★★★★
We had a fantastic tour with Wáköö Tours and our Guide Jeremias – a great guide who struck the perfect balance between insightful information, spotting wildlife, and engaging interaction. You could really tell he’s passionate and experienced. Communication was excellent from start to finish – everything was clearly described and well-documented, so we always knew what to expect. All in all, a truly enjoyable experience – highly recommended.

We booked this through AirBnB experiences, and the tour was absolutely fantastic! Had a tour with the guide Andrew. It was amazing. He gave us so much information, was so funny and showed a lot of animals! What is really sad and annoying that I don't get this pictures! I don't have an Iphone so he promised me to send me the pictures on whatsapp. He didn't and I don't get a reply to my mails or whatsapp messages.

During our visit to Manuel Antonio, Lurdes, our knowledgeable guide, crafted an exceptional experience, revealing animals we wouldn't have spotted without her and offering insights that ensured seamless exploration. The journey was both educational and enjoyable, fostering a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Manuel Antonio. We encountered the Common Basilisk, Common Tan Making Bat, Iguana, Common Pauraque, Squirrel Monkey, White-Faced Monkey, Howling Monkey, and Sloth – an incredible array! The tour concluded on the beach, the most beautiful I've seen, with crystal-clear water and fine sand creating a breathtaking sight. Keep your bags closed, as monkeys may try to snag something. While there are a few more hiking trails we didn't have time to explore, we plan to return for that experience. Additionally, we received detailed instructions on what to bring, how to get to the place, where to park the car, etc. Note that you must purchase a separate ticket for the park itself, and the entrance time doesn't have to align with the tour start. Wakoo Tours has a special agreement with the park. I recommend contacting them with any questions before purchasing park entry tickets. Don't forget to bring a reusable water bottle; there are water stations inside the park allowing you to refill during the tour. It's advisable to eat beforehand since bringing food isn't allowed, and food options inside the park are limited. Of course, bring a swimsuit and sunscreen—you don't want to miss the opportunity to enjoy the beach inside the park. Highly recommend this guided tour for a fulfilling and enriching adventure!

Jason is amazing to work with, super friendly guy, would highly recommend going with him for the guided tour to San Gerardo de Dota for the quetzals and many more!

Muchas gracias Jason! We did our Manuel Antonio National Park tour with Jason ! He is very knowledgeable and it was amazing to learn so much from him. Thank you for showing us around the park and teaching us so many facts about this beautiful country, animals and plants! Really recommend it!

I highly and unreservedly recommend Wakoo Tours. This was our second time touring Manuel Antonio with Wakoo. The first time we were on a group tour. This time we were on a private tour with Jason, the proprietor. Both tours were fantastic— hence our repeat business. Focusing on this time as it is fresh in our minds, Jason is so knowledgeable, respectful, kind, conscientious, generous and generally lovely. I don’t know how he has the eye he does, but he can find anything, anywhere, including with the optimal view— and he takes stellar photos and videos through his monocular that he shares with clients too. Best of all, he is clearly super knowledgeable, uses proper terminology, and shares loads of information. (Contrast this to one guide we saw who loudly shouted “Monkeys! Monkeys!” to his group without regard to the animals or other visitors, repeatedly called the white-faced capuchins, “white-faced monkeys”, and shared no other information with his group while near us). Other guides clearly respected Jason, and sought him out to help answer some more complicated questions of their guests. The bottom line: Jason is a lovely person, a passionate and knowledgeable birder and guide, and, based on our experiences, you will be in good hands with him or any member of the Wakoo team. Thank you Jason and thank you Wakoo! Good luck and pura vida!

Unfortunately, I have to leave a very negative review. Due to inaccurate/ incomplete information posted in more than one place, Jason caused me not to be able to visit Manuel Antonio Park, plus he cost me at least $200 for nothing. The information he posted about this tour (and the information that he sent to me after I booked) clearly stated that I would be able to buy my ticket from him. This is the ONLY reason why I booked a tour from him, as there were no more tickets available from the national park website. Jason misleadingly failed to mention that there was any possibility that he would not be able to sell me a ticket. But his rules DO state that if I can't go for any reason, he keeps the $30 I've paid him for my tour. In addition to that, I wouldn't have traveled here to Quepos if I hadn't been sure I could buy a ticket to the park from Jason. So I spent money for transportation to get here and to stay two nights at an AirBnB. So I'm not at all pleased. Jason, you need to stop misleading people and pocketing their money.

Nice tour! Andrew was a very good guide 👍🏾 It’s definitely worth it! We recommend it ✌🏾🇨🇷
★★★★★
Jason was very welcoming and our guide Aaron was amazing. Aaron took the time to make sure we all saw the wildlife he spotted and got us amazing photos through his telescope before moving on. Lots of in-depth pre-event information sent which was incredibly useful including maps and photos of guides and car parking spots. Overall really well organized and I'd recommend booking on to help you make the most out of your time at Manuel Antonio National Park.

We had a great time on our tour of Manuel Antonio National Park thanks to our guide, Andrew. He was full of great info on Costa Rica’s flora & fauna and knew just the places to look to find the insects & animals. We decided very last minute, the day before actually, to take the tour and all the tickets to the park were sold out but Jason was able to get us tickets from another tour company. We originally signed up for the 7 AM tour but they pushed us back to 7:30. I assume this was because there weren’t enough people signed up for 7 AM. It wasn’t a big deal and our group of 10 total, two families of four and a couple had ample time to see all the cool stuff Andrew pointed out along the way. He also took some great pictures with the best phone in the group and then had the woman air drop the pics to everyone else, genius. We ended at the beach which was beautiful and relaxing. You didn’t have to deal with the rip currents we had in Jaco and the waves were just right. We met another couple at the beach that didn’t have near the same tour experience with another guide so we were even more thankful for Andrew. We would definitely recommend Wakoo on your visit to Manuel Antonio.
★★★★★
We booked a guided tour of Manuel Antonio with Jason via his airbnb page. Andrew was our guide on the day and he was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and it made sense given his academic studies (bachelor and masters) are related to biology, nature, and conservation. We saw many animals and insects that we would have completely missed without a guide. It's definitely worth the extra money to arrange a guided tour before you get to the park.

Amazing experience. We were skeptical about needing a tour guide so we booked last minute. Andrew was so knowledgeable and we saw so many animals we would have completely missed. He also gave us a lot of info about the local flora and knew the bird calls and songs which was interesting. He took pictures for us through the scope - something we didn't see from other tours. Highly, highly recommend this company, you will get more than your money's worth on the tour.
★★★★★
If you want to see sloths, monkeys and more, and have decided to visit Manuel Antonio park, book a tour with Wakoo. We booked through Jason, and he set us up with Anthony as our guide. Everything was great, beginning with the parking. Jason gives great directions on where to park and where to meet the guide. Lots of "official" looking people will try and redirect you to other parking and tours, but stay with what the instructions Jason sends. Our guide knew so much of the trees, flowers, birds, insects and more. This was a great day for our family.
★★★★★
Did a tour with Francisco and it was great. Would not have spotted any wildlife aside from monkeys without him. Well worth it
★★★★★
We went on a day tour to Manuel Antonio and a jungle night tour with Andrew as our guide. We saw lots of fun wildlife during the day, including three sloths! Our night tour was less eventful, but we still saw frogs, insects, and a snake. Andrew was very pleasant, funny, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the tours if you're in the area!

(Translated by Google) We took the tour with Jason, and honestly, without him it would have been impossible to see so many animals. He's incredibly knowledgeable; he was the one who photographed and recorded a male sloth carrying a baby. So, if you're going to take the tour, definitely go with them. The directions were super clear at all times. They have a kind of professional binoculars that connects to their cell phone, and they take photos that they then share. Highly recommended and a truly enjoyable experience.

We had Andrew provide our tour and he was excellent. Working with Wakoo was easy and they communicate well. I would highly recommend the services of Wakoo.
★★★★★
Great experience in an absolutely stunning park! Our guide, Andrew, was a trained biologist and an excellent resource for spotting and learning about the flora and fauna of the park. He is clearly passionate about nature and wildlife and speaks excellent English. He also had a spotting scope so that we could zoom in on the wildlife. Our group was small (only 6 people). We saw sloths, monkeys, a caiman an agouti and lots of birds and lizards. I also liked that the tour ended at the beach so that we got to swim and hang out as long as we wanted afterwards. Thanks again, Andrew!
★★★★★
Jason was great! You could tell he had earned respect from many of the other guides by their joking around and poking fun at each other. He was super knowledgeable on the plants, animals, and vegetation we saw in the park (as expected), and was particularly knowledgeable about the birds of costa rica. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him to be a private birding guide if I felt so inclined some day.
★★★★★
Jason was an excellent tour guide! He has a great way of making the tour fun and interesting and we saw so many animals - sloths, bats, snakes, pizotes, monkeys and more! Jason lets you see all the animals through his telescope and takes pictures for you then sends them all after the tour so you get to keep them all, which was a nice extra. He also helps with parking which can be a bit hectic when busy!
★★★★★
Amazing!!! Jason the owner was super organized and provided us with detailed instructions on what to wear, what to bring, how to get there, where to park, etc. We really enjoyed our guide Andrew as he was fun and knowledgeable and clearly passionate about nature. Highly recommend!

I've been on multiple tours, multiple times. Wakoo is by far my most enjoyable, informative, and consistently good. I've had Jason as my guide both times and he squeezes so much digestible knowledge into the tour, keeps it upbeat, and what I learned in the first experience was completely different to the second. He knows how the inhabitants of Manuel Antonio national park behave. where they can be found and has a deep empathy for them. That translates to wall to wall sightings of animals throughout thr tour and a sense of genuine care for the fauna and flora he guides you around. As is typical of Ticos, the dad jokes are peppered throughout your conversations. On my latest tour we saw; baby fer-de-lance, baby sloth, adult sloths, hummingbird resting, howler monkeys, basilisk lizard, an exquisite moth, spiders, green eyed tree frog, and more.
★★★★★
We had a great time! We saw so many animals (3 different sloths, bat, coati, snake, giant grasshopper, group of howler monkeys, group of capuchin monkeys, land crabs in the forest, slow iguanas, fast running lizards... Our guide Jerimias was very knowledgeable about the animals. (Jerimias is Jason's brother). Very funny, and he worked in the history of the area and a little culture. When you get a guide, you are really buying into a network... the guides quickly share info as to animal whereabouts. They all seem to know each other and you get into the 'network' of animal locations with a guide. I would not have seen half of the animals without a guide. NOTE: You will have to buy a ticket to the park separately. Jason will send you clear instructions after you book, but do this promptly. You need to have a ticketed entry time that coincides with your tour. NOTE: The parking that you are instructed to use... is just the most convenient location, but it is NOT included. The lot was actually full and don chato directed me instead to a friend's lot about 500 ft away. Not a big deal at all. You will need parking cash... maybe 5 or 7 dollars. Also, Be sure to ignore the other disingenuous lot workers at lots that are 1 or 2 kms away wearing 'park ranger costumes'. They will attempt to stop traffic and force you to "choose" them. NOTE: Plan your day around just chilling on the park beaches for a while after the tour. It is a nice place with a lot of coastline. NOTE: There is one, very slow service restaurant inside the park. The security at the park entrance will do their absolute best to find ANY food you try to pack in. Give yourself time to eat before and after your visit - lots of local options. Jerimias did his absolute best to make sure that everyone got to see each animal with his scope and that every family got photos with their phone. above and beyond!
★★★★★
All the reviews about Jason are accurate! He is a super five star tour guide. This is coming from somebody who doesn’t do tours at all but this one was absolutely worth it! It is true that if you just go on your own you will not see hardly anything. Jason‘s ability to spot the smallest of insects and the most beautiful of sloths was amazing! When he would point stuff out I would spend a minute or two trying to find it and even after looking through his amazing scope and seeing the animal, I still couldn’t see it with the naked eye. His English is amazing, and his humor is even better! You will truly enjoy him and the tour! He gives thorough details about where to park and meet, so you are well prepared to start your tour with great communication.
★★★★★
Our party consisted of an 81 year old handicapped person in a wheelchair, an 11 year old, a 19 year old and me, a 52 year old. Jason was fabulous, accommodating, inclusive, intelligent, and enthusiastic. This was our second tour with Jason (the first was without my mother) and he was outstanding again. We have had other tour guides in Manuel Antonio Park (we used different booking companies so we had different guides) and although the others were very good, Jason is a cut above. As soon as I post this, I am booking another tour with Jason for my 4 friends who will be joining me in Costa Rica this summer!

Jason is the most intelligent and knowledgeable person I’ve ever met, especially when it comes to nature in Costa Rica and birds! We cannot stop talking about how he knew every call of every bird and would be able to spot birds that were invisible to us. We will never forget the tour we did with him of Carara National park. He was so friendly and warm and patient with all our questions. Treated us like family. He is Genuinely excited about the work he does and cares deeply about the earth! We cannot say enough about how impressed we are with him and the service he provides! Unreal!!! He also sent us super high quality pictures and videos at the end of the day that he took with his iPhone through the scope. There’s nothing Jason doesn’t know when it comes to wild Costa Rica !

Jason was an incredible tour guide! He is extremely knowledgeable about the area, plants, and of course the animals! He was able to spot so many different animals. While watching other tour groups in the park, he seemed to be the most knowledgeable and to spot the most animals, often helping other guides. Aside from his knowledge, he was funny and kept the group entertained! I highly recommend using him as your guide.

I've met a lot of nature guides in my life, but Jason is just one and the best. We would never be able to see so many animals, even if we had the best binoculars. We even suspected him of having animals glued as a slide :-) He also gave as a lot of great advises and recommendations about our next journey. Very nice job and we feel shame now that we were arguing about the price :-)

Jason was a great guide ! My boyfriend and I did a bunch of research before going to Manuel Antonio National Park and decided to hire a guide. We were so glad we did, Jason helped spot multiple sloths (three toed, and two toed, including a baby sloth!), crazy bugs, lizards, birds, and of course monkeys (both howler and white faced capuchin monkeys). Out of all the animals the only one we would have been able to see ourselves would have been the white faced capuchin monkeys which are very outgoing. Jason also had a bunch of knowledge to share about the animals, bugs, and plants which was interesting to learn about during the tour. Extra bonus that I thought was great was that Jason set up a telescope for us to get a close-up view of all the animals and helped us take pictures through the telescope so that we could share everything with our family and friends back home! Seeing sloths in nature was truly special and there is no way we would have been able to spot them or enjoy their funny personalities from so far away without the help of Jason and his telescope!

Tour guide Eiderson was amazing. Shows us lots of animals i would not have seen otherwise. Super nice and informative....would recommend him in a heartbeat. The park itself was a bit crowded but our tour guide did a good job of getting us through as a group and making sure we enjoyed it. The beach at the end is beautiful but many rocks in the water that cant be seen made it difficult to enjoy.....came out bleeding from being smashed on the boulders underneath. As warm and beautiful the water was, I got out because it was hard to enjoy.

Jason was also funny and shared stories. We felt that the tour was a great value. And, had we not hired a guide, we probably would have mostly seen plants and trees.

I have been to Costa Rica a couple of times and every time I learn something new. It has diversity in culture just like it's Flora and Fauna. This time we explored Manuel Antonio National Park. Our guide Javier Laguna was in charge educating us on this country, but creating an understanding on how the ecosystem works, and how important it is not not only for Costa Rica, but the world! Although, I know Spanish, my friends didn't. Javier is so knowledgeable of the animals and flora, that he was able to translate perfectly amd even provided scientific terms. The park is now regulated as you have to buy tickets in advance and provide passport details or cédula. No food,no sun block or any other items are permitted to protect the flora and fauna. Reusable bottles are permitted. Javier provided us with fruit inside. At the end of the tour you get to enjoy the beautiful, clean soft sandy beach. Pura Vida!
★★★★★
I walked th guided tour with a broken toe..so it can be done! Having a guide is the only way to do it. They find all the creatures that u would miss and are so knowledgeable about everything there. They take photos and zoom in on objects for a wonderful experience. Not only is the park beautiful but also the beaches pristine...wear your suit under your clothes for u will be ready to cool off and enjoy the beach after the tour.
★★★★★
The guide is absolutely essential. They can show you all kinds of things you would never see in your own. Worth every dollar!
★★★★★
Amazing customer service. Jason was a gem at trying to sort out our situation. Please remember to purchase your tickets prior to booking the tour. Manuel Antonio park is amazing! We saw tons of animals: sloths (at least 5), howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, capucin monkeys, iguanas, spiders, frogs, bats, aguila, snakes and so much more!
★★★★★
★★★★★
We did a private tour and it was great. You can see some of the animals without a guide but the illusive ones we definitely would have missed. Highly recommend.
★★★★★
Jason delivered an absolutely unforgettable bird watching experience—easily one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we started, his energy, kindness, and genuine passion for birding stood out. He didn’t just guide us—he completely elevated the experience. He went above and beyond to make sure we saw everything we hoped for and more, taking the time to track down species we never would have spotted on our own. His knowledge is incredible, and the way he shares it makes the whole experience exciting and engaging. What really sets Jason apart is how much he cares—he’s patient, attentive, and truly wants you to have the best possible time. We never felt rushed, and every moment felt intentional and special. We had an amazing time, saw incredible wildlife, and walked away with memories we’ll never forget. 10/10 in every way—would recommend 100% without hesitation!
★☆☆☆☆
We were given half information and the tourist guide did not show up. He sent another person and he refused to help us with entrance tickets. He lied that tickets are not available. We had to buy on counter tickets and go with another tour. This agency didn't even refund our $60. Bad service. Bad at communicating and Don't refund your money back. DONT BOOK!

Tolle Gruppenführung im Manuel Antonio NP! Unser Guide war klasse. Ein super Erlebnis und absolut weiterempfehlbar. Gerne wieder!

This was hands-down one of the most magical experiences of my entire life!! Jason picked us up before sunrise and brought us high into the mountains to search for the Resplendent Quetzal, a true bucket-list bird for me. When we finally spotted it, I was completely in awe. Jason and Michael were knowledgeable, kind, and clearly so passionate about what they do. It was also lovely to meet Michael and learn about the important work he does with local farmers to help protect the Quetzals. At one point, while we were trying to get into position to see the Quetzal, they even helped me carefully climb a hill so I wouldn’t miss the sighting. That meant so much to me. I felt completely taken care of the entire time. My brother (a non-birder!) came with me and ended up having a spectacular time too. I honestly think he’s caught the birding bug. After we found the Quetzal, we stopped at two beautiful cafes where we saw tons of lifers. The hummingbirds alone were worth the trip! Jason also helped us capture incredible photos and videos, and took us to a delicious breakfast and lunch along the way. If you’re thinking about booking a birding tour in Costa Rica and hoping for a chance to see the Resplendent Quetzal, this is the one. Seriously, this is a “once-in-a-lifetime” kind of a tour. (Although I definitely plan on coming back!!)
★★★★★
Danny did a great job and was excellent in spotting a variety of species in the rain forest. I would hire him again in an instant.
★★★★★
Our guide - Javier was very friendly and informative and spotted lots of animals for us to see through his telscopic lens.
★★★★★
Th pearl is beautiful!! Mop was an awesome tour guide and found so many fun things for us to see. We saw Howler and Whiteface monkeys, sloths, frogs and lizards, lots of different birds and bats and the coolest looking crabs. He pointed out the different plants, trees and insects too, he is very knowledgeable about all of it. He took photos with his phone through the telescope so we got great pictures of what we saw without a big hold up of everyone trying to get their own, then he just airdropped them to us at the end. The tour ended and the beautiful beach where we stayed and swam and did a little more walking around the park. Highly recommend this tour!!
★★★★★
Jason was an amazing guide. He kept things light-hearted and fun while also sharing a ton of information about the wildlife in the area. He made it seem as if we were experiencing something wonderfully unique because he is amazed at what the animals do.
★★★★★
Our guide Jason was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and knew so much about all of the flora and fauna. He answered questions as we went along. He had a scope so he could show us everything in more detail, as well as take pictures and videos. He knew the other the guides, and they would alert each when they found something of interest. We saw tiny orchids, a lizard, bats, a hummingbird on its nest, a tiny frog, a very active sloth, howler monkeys, and a ton of capuchin monkeys! And at the end Jason shared the photos and videos with us!

It was a great tour and we never would have seen or known about a lot of things that were shown to us on the tour. our tour guide Jason was great

One of the highlights of our trip. We saw birds, sloths, snakes and monkeys. Our guide, Jason, was very knowledgable and enthusiastic. We would not have spotted the animals on our own. We enjoyed our tour and learnt a lot. The beaches in Manuel Antonio are gorgeous and we stayed on the beach after our tour.

Jason, our tour guide, was on time. He was professional, was knowledgeable, was attentive, took his time to help us see the animals. He explained everything throughly and took time to answer our questions. Before the tour he gave us good tips to help us have a nice and safe tour. I would reccomend this tour to other families.

This was the best tour in Costa Rica. Our guide Jason spotted a lot of animals. We even saw a Fer De lance and an Anteater. He is really relax, nice and funny, and he takes high quality pictures and videos. Highly recommended.
★★★★★
Our experience was amazing! He was super knowledgeable and answered all our questions, the tour was fun, not too many people in our group so it felt more personal, he even took amazing photos and sent it to us at the end! I will definitely recommend Jason to anyone who comes to visit!
★★★★★
What an incredible day we had exploring Manuel Antonio National Park! We were so fortunate to have Jason as our guide—he was not only warm and engaging but also incredibly knowledgeable. We learned so much about the Costa Rican rainforests and the fascinating wildlife that call them home. I would absolutely book through Viator again and make sure to request Jason for our next visit to Manuel Antonio. He was exceptional!
★★★★★
Ariel was an excellent tour guide! He was engaging, informative and helped us get great pictures. It was one of our best experiences in Costa Rica.
★★★★★
David was an amazing tour guide. He was highly knowledgeable and we saw so many animals! He showed us things we wouldn’t have seen without his expertise. We saw bats, birds that hunt at night, howler monkeys, hornets, sloths, iguanas and the walking stick insect. It was a really great experience and I recommend it if you are in the area!
★★★★★
Great tour with Andrew, he did great at finding stuff and knowing where other stuff was.living. He shared photos taken through his scope at the end of the tour. I would recommend. Parking location used by tour company was near the tour start and cost 10usd.
★★★★★
Andrew took us on a guided tour of the National Park, for two hours he amazed us by spotting the tiniest and also most attractive animals. The ordianry human would certainly miss seeing the animals so it is definitely worth using Andrew and Jason! The tour was really enjoyable and Andrew is amazing at taking pictures with your phone through his character, we saw snakes, bats, birds and lots of baby sloths!
★★★★★
Jason was the most incredible tour guide!! He was spotting animals and showing us and other guides where the animals were. He is extremely knowledgeable about the animals and hilarious - the best movie references! 😂 This tour really made our trip special, and he made it so easy to find the parking & meetup spot. Thank you for this once in a lifetime experience!! 🩷 We cannot recommend Wakoo Tours enough!
★★★★★
Jason was fantastic and our best guide of our 10 days in CR. He was funny and really personable with the kids as well as extremely knowledgeable. We saw everything we hoped to see!
★★★★★
Ivan our tour guide was knowledgable, friendly and an expert spotter and picture taker with & without the scope.
★★★★★
Jeremy was our guide and was really easy to find at the meeting point. As we were walking around he explained so much about the animals he spotted for us in detail. We never would have spotted the animals that were sometimes minuscule or so camouflaged if we had been on our own. He took photos for us through his telescope and sent them to us so we could have them as souvenirs in high definition. It was a wonderful experience for the end of our stay in Costa Rica.
★★★★★
Well done!
★★★★★
This private birding tour at El Rey was peaceful, informative, and truly memorable. Our guide was absolutely perfect—his passion for birds and deep knowledge were unmatched. He spotted so many species we never would have seen on our own, knew their names and origins, and could even mimic many of their calls. We took a slow stroll along paths bordering the natural habitats, observing and listening to these beautiful creatures in their surroundings. It was very special to see birds from our home region that had migrated here for the winter. The guide truly made this an outstanding tour.
★★★★★
We loved our tour of Manuel Antonio with Jason! He is very knowledgeable and lots of fun! He took the time to answer all our questions. The views and pictures/videos through his telescope were excellent. MA was crazy crowded but Jason maneuvered us easily through and always found us a prime spot for viewing. t. We highly recommend this tour.
★★★★★
We had an absolute blast doing our guided tour with Jason. He pointed out numerous plants and wildlife that we would have never found (with our own eyes). He was incredibly knowledgeable and also had a great sense of humor. The visit to the park would have been beautiful on our own but having a guide was THE way to experience all it has to offer. Jason also had an attachment for his phone that made capturing photos/videos of wildlife through the viewing scope possible. He took some incredible shots that he then airdropped to us at the end of the tour. 10/10 recommend Uncle Jason to anyone considering visiting Manuel Antonio!
★★☆☆☆
WAY too crowded, poorly run. Yes, we did see animals along with about 100 other people at any given spot. The number of people they let in ruins the experience. We have kids with us so had to work around school holidays. Just don't come during peak season.
★★★★★
★★★★★
We had a great tour of Manuel Antonio NP with Jason! He is such a knowledgeable and fun tour guide. We saw everything on our list, with the highlights being the Capuchin monkeys, two and three toed sloths, the hammerhead basilisk, yellow-throated toucan, and a common pauraque. Jason was able to air drop all of the photos and videos that he captured from his sighting scope to us, which was really awesome to take our experience home with us. Highly recommend this tour!
★★★★★
The tour was brilliant, Jason was a fantastic guide, passionate, extremely knowledgeable and very witty too. We saw things we wouldn't have noticed, makes us wonder what we'd missed in other nacional parques. Jason took some amazing photos and videos which he shared with us all later that day. Seeing wildlife up close through his lense, was mind blowing. The tour exceeded expectations, Would definitely recommend, Jason made our visit to Manuel Antonio unforgettable. The best value for money ever! We saw, Sloths, Howler, Squirrel and white faced capuchin Monkeys, bird eating snake, giant crickets, bats, Night jar and more.
★★★★★
Amazing tour. Our guide Jason was the best we could ask for. Anyone who is planning to visit MA with a guide ask for Jason. Funny, knowledgeable, passionate about his job . He loves nature and nature loves him! You will not regret choosing him as your guide . We couldn't ask for a better and more informative guide. Thank you Jason for amazing experience and your knowledge! We live nature even more now! Pura Vida!
★★★★★
The group was fun and the tour guide was knowledgeable and full of enthusiasm. We took a lot of pictures and walked out of the park having a profound responsibility to respect and preserve fauna and flora !
★★★★★
Best thing we did in Costa Rica. Our guide, Jason, spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about the wildlife. We saw sloths, spiders, snakes, birds, turtles, iguanas and lizards. It ended at the beach and we didn’t bring our swimsuits but I wish we would have because it was the best swimming beach I’d seen on our trip. The water was warm and clear and the sand was so soft. There were also shady areas to sit. I highly recommend this tour and would happily go again. Great value for the price too. Our guide also took great pictures and airdropped them to us.
★★★★★
I looked at few different tours and they all seem fairly similar, but this one was definitely amazing value. Our guide was incredible and was actually pointing out most of the creatures to the other guides. It would have been basically impossible to see the vast majority of the creatures without the telescope and it also allowed us to get amazing pictures. 100% everyone should do it with a guide and I highly recommend these guys. I went for an hour walk after by myself after and didn't come close to seeing all the things I did with the guide.
★★★★★
Robert was the perfect guide. He helped us see lots of wildlife, including some “smiling “ sloths he caught on video for us as we watched through his spotting scope. Fun guy, good sense of humor, very knowledgeable, and extremely patient with our slower than average pace (some mobility issues). It was great to see the close collegiality among all the guides, helping each other and their clients have the best experience. I was surprised at the complete lack of competitive feeling among them, and how friendly and helpful our guide Robert was with other guides and visitors to the park. Sloths, deer, land crab, spiders, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys—we saw all those with Robert, who was always relaxed and never made us feel hurried.
★★★★★
★★★★★
Amazing so much wildlife hiding in plain sight. Our guide Jason was able to find wildlife and explain key features. It was great.
★★★★★
Wow! Our tour far exceeded our expectations. The two hour guided tour with Jason from Wakoo was just right in this national park. This was our third tour in Costa Rica and for Manuel Antonio we had expected this to be our busiest stop . we went first thing in the morning for a seven to nine a.m. tour . highly recommend for anybody else going here to go early . Jason was extremely knowledgeable And showed us things that we never would’ve seen on our own . he took fantastic photos through his scope for us and even recorded voiceovers for some of the animals and insects that we seen so we would know where we saw it and what its true name is. Jason gave us tips on what to do following our tour with him within the park such as beaches and hiking trails. He was really really knowledgable and very friendly and super funny. Highly recommend booking in with Jason!
★★★★★
Our fantastic tour guide had an experienced eye to find the sloths, monkeys,, birds and iguanas. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The food at the park wasn’t very good, but the tour ended at the beautiful beach with warm water!
★★★★★
We take the tour with Jason. We really enjoyed, he spotted many animals, and add some great explanations. We very recommend to join Jason in a tour!
★☆☆☆☆
Boring, purposeless, barely any wildlife. We expected much more; the activities in Arenal are much more meaningful.
★★★★★
Visite incroyable, notre guide Jason a été génial nous avons pu voir pleins d’animaux grâce à lui. Je recommande à 100% !
★★★★☆
Our guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable and found wildlife we would have never seen on our own. There were a lot of tours going on at once. It was a bit crowded. The beach at the end of the tour is beautiful. The beach wasn't crowded. We took a 7:30 am tour. It gets hot quickly, so go early.
★★★★★
Ricardo is so knowledgable and kind to us. We could not find anything without his help! My friends and I all had a great time here with our guide. This experience is very unforgettable.
★★★★★
Our guide Jason was great! He had the eagle eyes to spot many animals for us. I would highly recommend taking a private tour like we did and ask for Jason. You will be glad that you did.
★★★★★
The park was absolutely beautiful! Our tour guide Edgar was so nice and was very good at finding animals. The private tour let us spend more time looking for specific animals we wanted to see. An absolutely beautiful park.
★★★★★
We booked our trip with Mauro and he was phenomenal! My elderly parents accompanied us and he was incredibly patient with then. We saw an ant eater, a snake, 3 sloths, capuchins, howler monkeys, halloween crabs and a ton of other wildlife thanks to Mauro. He also educated us on the flora and fauna and the history of the country. Overall, a very enjoyable trip! Highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys nature and wildlife.
★★★★★
This was a great guided tour. We saw so much that we would have missed without a guide. Jason was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging. We were so glad we took a tour
★★★★★
This tour company gave us an experience beyond our expectations today. From the time we booked this tour until we ended our adventure. Jason and Andrew kept us informed and guided us throughout with directions, where to park, ticket purchase and photo and video directions as well. We saw so many exciting wildlife and plants, and were educated while doing so in English and Spanish. We highly recommend this tour group for your next visit to Costa Rica.
★★★★★
We went wanting to see sloths, monkeys, and other animals. Dave, our guide, didn’t disappoint. Without him we wouldn’t have seen much of anything. His expertise showed by pointing out things we probably wouldn’t have seen without him. If you go, ask for Dave!
★★★★★
Andrew was a terrific guide. Very knowledgable and fun. We saw a huge variety of flora and fauna and got good photos from Andrew’s scope. He was great with the kids as well as the adults.
★★★★★
Andrew was my tour guide and he was super knowledgeable and great at spotting a lot of different wildlife. I really enjoyed having him as my guide. If your intention is to see a huge variety of animals/insects and get some good pictures then this tour is absolutely worth booking, there were so many things I wouldn’t have been able to notice or identify without the help of a guide. I’ve seen some reviews that seem to have missed the instructions to buy park tickets before the tour, but personally I can confirm these instructions were provided to me on the description for the tour when I booked it.
★★★★★
Jason was a terrific guide. He has an eye for spotting wildlife that we could never find on our own. Another person in our tour said, "I think we got the best guide" and I agreed she was likely right. Jason would spot things and then tell the others. He also takes beautiful photos and videos through his scope and shares them at the end so that you dont have to deal with pucture taking. Plus, he enjoys joking and making people laugh. The meetup point is right outside the park entrance and he gives very thorough instructions on how to find the tour. A great experience.
★★★★★
We had a private tour with Ricardo. He was an excellent guide, very patient and informative, unlocking the wonderful secrets of this special area. The area is teeming with wildlife, but a skillful guide like Ricardo is essential to spot the wildlife camouflaged in the foliage and see it in all its splendor using a powerful scope. This ensures you get great photos as well. We found sloths and monkeys, snakes, birds and some amazing colorful insects. The beach is beautiful though waves were a little rough when we visited. Still great way to cool off after the walk through the rainforest.
★★★★★
Booking a tour guide is definitely the way to go. We had Andrew and he was great with lots of educational info about the animals and insects we saw. We were able to see a lot more through the telescope he brings which was a must have!!
★★★★★
We booked a guide through Viator. Our guide Bryan was very friendly and knowledgeable about the amazing plants and creatures of the park. We probably would have missed half of the animals sightings walking on our own.
★★★★★
We really enjoyed our tour. Our guide, Fabio, was very knowledgeable, kind and obviously passioned about the natural wonders of Costa Rica. The pace was relaxed and we never felt rushed. We were fortunate to be in a small group of only 2 couples, and to also have great weather for mid June. We had the 7.30 AM on a Sunday, and it was still crowded at times, especially since many groups we encountered were very large. We saw several sloths, howler and white face monkeys, frogs, lizards, hummingbirds and more. We probably wouldn’t have spotted most of these creatures without Fabio’s help. At the end, he shared with us all of the awesome pics he took during the tour. We strongly recommend Fabio and this guided tour.
★★★★★
Jason was great! Found us many animals and was full of information! Great pictures and videos! We really wouldn’t have seen much without a guide- also helps with parking and entering park.
★★★★★
Jason is a great bird watcher and also a great person! We had a wonderful day with spending the day with him and I highly recommend him for birdwatching in Costa Rica. Thank you so much.
★★★★★
Our tour guide was awesome and worked to ensure we got to see a variety of animals including crabs, snakes, birds, monkeys, and lizards. It was nice to have Jason take the photos and then share them with our group. If you are interested in doing something specializing in bird watching then Jason would be an awesome guide. The beach was great and we were able to see monkeys and lizards around the shore. There is a good walk back to the entrance, but it is flat. Just know you have a 15 minute walk back after swimming.
★★★★★
We had a great time and got to see a lot of things we would have missed if we didn’t have a guide. I love that if you have an iPhone the guide will Airdop all the photos to you that were taken through his scope. I’ve always gotten so obsessed with taking pictures that I rarely just get to enjoy the tour.
★★★★★
Ricardo was a wonderful guide. We saw a lot of animals and also learned a lot about the Forrest. Glad we took a tour guide on the trails!
★★★★☆
Jason was a capable guide. He pointed out all 4 species of monkeys, sloths, a brown tree snake eating a lizard, and a coati. But he promised to send me a Google link to his photos from our trip, and he never did! Bummer.
★★★★★
If you are interested and able to book a small group/private tour, we highly recommend this business! Wakoo Tours provides a wonderful , knowledgeable and relaxing tour ♥️

★★★★★
Jason was the best. There were people in other groups trying to listen to Jason because he was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and funny. We loved Jason and would 1,000% recommend Jason and his team!
★☆☆☆☆
Disappointing- due to incomplete information given, we were unable to go on the tour, no refund. Please purchase tickets to the park ahead of the guided tour.
★☆☆☆☆
Beware - I booked a private tour and paid for it the day before it was schedule. They notified AFTER I was able to book that ticket to tne park were needed (which wasn't the problem - as tickets are only 18.50 USD) however, the park is sold out for weeks! No information was shared that you should secure your admission first! The only solution offered was to purchase admission on the secondary market for over $40 per preson. Who is buying up all the tickets to a National Park and reselling them??? They did not offer to reimburse me for my tour - which we couldn't take since the park is sold out for weeks!
★★★★★
We had a wonderful tour with Andrew! He was so fun and knowledgeable. He was great with our kids, and found all kinds of things we would have never found on our own. We saw howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, capuchin monkeys with babies, sloths - moms and babies, spiders, basilisk, deer being chased by monkeys, coati, and agouti. Of course, many birds and big iguanas as well. We did a private tour at 7am and I am so glad we chose this option, because it was starting to get crowded as we were leaving. Here is a little tip - the tours ends on the beach, but if you keep walking along the trail, there is another beach that is much more private and shaded and so beautiful. Many stop at the first beach they see, but Andrew told us to keep going and I am so glad we did! It was a perfect day at the park. Remember to buy your tickets to the park immediately after you book this tour, as they are not included.

★★★★★
★★★★☆
Our guide, Jason, was the best! He was entertaining, very knowledgeable about the park and Costa Rica, polite and courteous. Provided very detailed instructions to get to the park. We enjoyed seeing the sloth + baby, 4 different types of monkeys, iguanas, Coatimundi, frogs and birds. The walk was long (2 hrs) and hot on a stone road with occasional water breaks and a few benches to sit on with opportunity to buy lunch near the end. The trail was somewhat crowded between 8 and 10 am on a Thursday in early March, but not overly so. At the end we spent another hour or so swimming on the beach before hiking back.
★★★★★
Wonderful place to see and photograph birds! Jason was an excellent guide! I also did the private Quetzales tour with Wáköö tours and absolutly loved both! I highly recommand Wáköö tours.
★★★★★
It was my favorite day during the trip! Saw several Quetzals and other birds. Got several good pictures and videos. Jason and Michael were wonderful guides! Had a great day! Jason even gave me a bonus at the end of the tour by stopping at El Rey Playa where i took many pictures of more species of birds! I definitely recommand Wáköö tours for birdwatchers and photographers!

FANTASTIC, I would not go to Manuel Antonio without a guide. The animals are very hard to spot. ANDREW! Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. Charismatic, knowledgeable, even would demonstrate the bird calls and managed to get a beautiful bird to come out by doing some calls. ALSO! He takes a picture of the animal through his telescope for you and shares it with everyone at the end so you don’t have to worry about pulling your phone out on the tour and being distracted. You just enjoy the walk and the animals. We saw, sloth, capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys, toucans, bats, and a bunch of lizards and bugs. But we literally never would have seen any of them (maybe except for the rambunctious capuchin monkeys) without ANDREW our tour guide. 10/10 experience MOST IMPORTANTLY we didn’t know you needed to buy tickets to the park separately at the appropriate time to get in to the actual park. So make sure you coordinate your tickets with the tour times available. Jason at Walpole tours was very helpful on WhatsApp to coordinate this for us. What an amazing experience and I hope you have as amazing time as we did. Also no disposable plastic water bottles in the park. You have to have a canteen.

Oh my gosh! What an incredible day with Jason. He is so knowledgeable and easy to relate. I still can't figure out how he spotted so many different species that are so well camouflaged. Unbelievable. I will sign up with Uncle Jason when we return. He is the best!
★★★★★
The guide, Jason, was very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, was funny and personable, and was able to spot wildlife where nothing seemed visible to me. Without him, we would’ve missed seeing the sloths, bat, crab and lizards. We did manage to see monkeys without his help.
★★★★★
Jason was an outstanding tour guide! He's skilled at seeing things that we would have passed! His vast knowledge of all of the animals is also evident! I highly recommend taking his tours!

Jason war super. Ohne ihn hätten wir keine Tiere gesehen. Alle Fotos hat er uns geschickt ! Sehr gute Tour.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also Vorsicht.

This tour was amazing!! Our first guided tour in Costa Rica and it was everything we dreamed it would be and more. We saw sloths, tamanduas, monkeys, and cool bugs. Our guide was funny, knowledgable and considerate. Definitely make sure to swim in the absolutely beautiful beach afterwards! Highly recommend.
★★★★★
This tour was amazing! It ended up just being me and my fiancé and Francisco was our tour guide. We saw a lot of great wildlife including sloths and iguanas, but the howler monkeys were a highlight for us as we hadn't seen them yet in our trip. Francisco was so knowledgeable that I caught other people listening to him rather than their own tour guides! He was also very focused on making sure we got a lot of great pictures. I would highly recommend this tour!
★★★★★
Had a great time exploring the park with Jeremy. He was very accommodating and made sure to answer all our questions. He helped us spot a lot of animals which we wouldn’t have if we did it ourselves. Highly recommend Jeremy.
★☆☆☆☆
Our tour guide never showed. He called us to apologize, it was not his fault. Regardless 9 of us waited for about an hour as we figured out what was going on and booked with another company.
★★★★★
★★★★★
Andrew was such a great guide! Thanks for making this a fun experience and taking so many photos of the animals and teaching us about them.
★★★★★
Our guide, Wilbur was very knowledgeable and friendly. He has a lot of experience and it showed. He was able to point all sorts of animals that we never would have seen without a guide. We were able to take up close pictures thanks to the equipment he had. Definitely money well spent!
★★★★★
Notre guide Andrew était parfait, nous avons pris notre temps et observer beaucoup d'animaux. Le parc est magnifique, la balade se finit sur une plage paradisiaque.
★★★★★
This was a great experience! Andrew was an awesome and knowledgeable tour guide, he genuinely enjoyed his job and were glad to have been with him! We saw monkeys (Howler and white faced capuchin), sloths, a snake, a few hummingbirds, and tons of iguanas. Would recommend to others!
★★★★★
It was a super interesting tour, we learnt a lot about fauna and flora. We spot a lot of animals and insects. Our guide Andrew was so friendly and explain us a lot of things. I do recommend this tour!! Thanks Andrew!!
★★★★★
We are glad we decided to go with a guided tour, since we saw so many creatures which we would have missed otherwise. Also, the spotting scope was great for taking a closer look and for pictures. Aaron was an excellent guide, and we highly enjoyed our tour.
★★★★★
Absolutely highlight of my trip!! Jason was an unbelievable guide! Wd saw over 50 bird species and he kept track of all and sent to us after tour. He is sooo knowledgeable and was able to proactively look for special species. The utmost professional n expert in field. Don’t miss this one!!
★★★★★
Jason was PHENOMENAL! So knowledgable, so funny, it was truly the best experience. We saw so many more animals with him than we ever could have found alone. 10 out of 10 recommend!
★★★★★
Jason took us on a private tour of MA NP. He was great to communicate with prior and gave us all sorts of useful tips such as where to park and how to avoid the car park sharks! He clearly loves his job and has so much knowledge of the ecosystem and biodiversity of the area. He is very friendly and his stories kept us all engaged. We saw many amazing insects, mammals and birds. We were very lucky to see three 3 toed sloths and one 2 toed. After the tour we were free to use the gorgeous beaches and further explore the park. On our own, we hardly saw anything! I spent a long time researching touring guides and deciding whether we needed one. In the end we splashed out on a private group tour and didn't regret it. The guides have powerful scopes and take fantastic photos and videos which they send to you. In summary I would highly recommend Jason and his company. We had a brilliant day.
★★★★★
★★★★★
We had a great guide and never would have seen all the animals of Manuel Antonio Park without this tour!
★★★★★
My 15-year-old daughter and I took a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with other tourists and guided by Andrew. It was a fantastic tour, even the time (7.30-9.30 am) was perfect. In the rain forest there was good weather around 25/26 degrees Celsius. Walking in the rain forest is an unforgettable experience: being surrounded by the dark green, the scent of the plants, the chirping of the tropical birds. Our guide Andrew is also a biologist and was very precise in describing the flora and fauna and the ecological relationships between the animal and plant species. He showed us many animals, sloths, monkeys, spiders, lizards, spectacular birds, hidden and protected by the forest. He explained well their ecological niche, their adaptability and the peculiarities of their behaviour. He was very competent and patient with all of us, very kind and funny. Thank you very much!
★★★★★
Andrew was a phenomenal tour guide . Knowledgeable and found all the animals we wanted to see. Worth every penny to spot the wildlife and take great pictures through the spotting scope. Additionally , the parking accommodations and specifically the detailed directions helped us park right near the entrance and avoid all the scammers! Plus Restaurant Donde Alex right by the parking area was good and a perfect spot to watch the monkeys frolic around town. Just pay in colones , because the conversion rate was not good in dollars.
★★★★★
Jason made every single moment of our tour exceptional. He has a fantastic knowledge of birds (by their calls and morphology) and is very friendly. We had a wonderful day learning from him. He spots birds so quickly and accurately! This was the the experience of a lifetime! We will definitely try to book a tour with him on our next visit to Costa Rica.
★★★★☆
Definitely need a guide when you visit MA. The instructions provided by Wakoo about where to park and meet were clear. Andrew was our guide and he was great! We had an amazing time.
★★★★★
Francisco was very knowledgeable and amazing! He took the time to give us great information on the animals we were seeing and was enthusiastic about the wildlife we encountered. A guided tour is a must through Manuel Antonio to see things you normally wouldn’t, and Francisco was the best!
★★★★★
What an incredible experience! Andrew was a phenomenal tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the national park. He even demonstrated his skill with bird songs! Andrew talked with us at the beginning of the tour to understand if there were any specific animals or features we wanted to see during the tour and then he was a man on a mission to find them! We saw so many different animals and insects throughout the tour and really learned a lot of about each one of them. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone!
★★★★★
We spent a wonderful day with Jason at Carara National Park and surrounding areas. He is a great guide and host. We started the day at a site he knew that had trees filled with parakeets, offering a cacophony of bird sounds to wake us up for the day ahead. Another site he knew had nesting scarlet macaws, offering a very up-close experience viewing the birds. Still another had a family of bat falcons. There were macaws near this site as well, until the bat falcons chased them away directly over our heads. We saw orange collared manakins doing their dance - a ritual he was able to describe in detail - and the long tailed manakin posing regally in a tree. Jason was adept at identifying birds by call and tracking them down for our viewing. And he is a gregarious and hospitable traveling companion, providing us with a delicious breakfast and lunch and a plentiful array of snacks and drinks throughout the day. We're very glad to have had the opportunity to spend the day with him.
★★★★★
Had a wonderful private tour with Andrew as our guide. He did a great job pointing out all the animals with info and humor along the way.
★★★★★
We loved our private tour of Manuel Antonio! Francisco was incredible from start to finish! We had overcast skies which makes it harder to spot wildlife but that didnt make a difference for him! He not only showed us a wide range of insects, reptiles and animals (found us so many sloths!!) but he also shared really interesting facts that we never knew! He was great with the kids too! Highly recommend this tour and hope you are lucky enough to get Francisco as your guide! Pura Vida!
★★★★★
Jason was a fantastic guide and led us straight to the Quetzals - we would never have found them by ourselves. He knew their recent habitat and by listening for their call quickly located one. Later in the morning he took us to a nesting location and with his spotting scope we were able to get fantastic videos of the Quetzals going to and coming from the nests. He was very helpful, interesting to listen to, and knew great places for breakfast and lunch.
★★★★★
Amazing experience. Way above my expectations. Guide is very knowledgeable, I learned a lot. Locations, birds, weather, meals, pick up, transportation were perfect.
★★★★★
Andrew was friendly, amazing at spotting and explaining what things to see, and kept it moving. So glad we booked the private tour, it was so hot and those huge groups moved at a snail’s pace because everyone has to take turns looking in the scope. Bring reusable water bottles and we also had cooling towels which helped. We had teens and tweens and they enjoyed it, but I don’t think I would go on a hot day with smaller kids-the ones we saw were bored and miserable while on their tour. A zoo is a lot more exciting for little ones. It was also awesome having a tour booked ahead of time to avoid the aggressive parking vendors, they tell you exactly where to go-a lot directly in front of the entrance! We saw lizards, a spider, howler monkeys, sloths, birds, and a crab off the top of my head. Security wouldn’t let us take some packaged cookies in which seemed silly, and they almost didn’t let us take our sandwiches unless we took them out of the zip lock bag, but they let us through. The guides told us not to wear Teva shoes or crocks but I think you’d be fine with even flip flops. It’s all paved, just a little steep in a few places. We wore sneakers and it was a pain with the sand after swimming. If you eat lunch on the beach be aware of the aggressive iguanas - we had a good laugh but they kept us on our toes.
★★★★★
Seeing sloths! Francisco was a fabulous guide. Very knowledgeable. I would suggest bringing food! We planned to get food and drink at the coffee place but it was closed!!
★★★★★
Knowledgeable and friendly guide, Daniel, who told us many new and interesting facts about the wildlife in the jungle. Highly recommendable.
★★★★☆
Danny the guide was superb. Highly recommendable. Very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We saw lots of wildlife and learnt many new and interesting things.
★★★★★
Andrew was a super guide, very kind. He shows us a lot of animals and explain us everything about Manuel Antonio Park. I recommend this experience !
★★★★★
Wakoo tours were very communicative before we arrived, and ensured that we had everything we needed to have a great day. It was lovely to be shown around Manuel Antonio park by Andrew, whose own passion for nature was infectious. There were several children in our group, too, and Andrew made sure that they had a good time and got to see all the creatures.
★★★★★
Small groups, Andrew was very friendly and he took time to explain everything and to take picture from the animals for everyone. We really enjoed this tour
★★★★★
This tour group is awesome. When you drive into town, everyone tries to get you into their lot and use them as guides. All I had to say was we had a tour with “Jason” and they left us alone and said we were lucky. One person actually escorted us to the parking lot that Jason recommended (great lot with video surveillance and an attendant). Andrew (works with Jason), provided the tour for us. I can’t say enough about how good Andrew was. We had walked around by ourselves for 2 hours and saw nothing. Andrew spotted 2 and 3 toed sloths, monkeys, birds and nesting birds, various insects, eggs and shared a lot of information. Well worth the money.
★★★★★
The whole team from Jason to Andrew our private tour guide was exceptional. Wakoo tours help us to have a smooth and wonderful experience. They coordinate parking to the entrance to the park. Andrew was very patient in answering questions especially from my 5 year old son. The whole tour was worth it and I highly recommend to book the tour from Jason and his crew
★★★★★
We had a great time at Manual Antonio and it was because we had an expert guide. Wakoo tours prepare you very well with clear explicit instructions and steer you past very aggressive alternatives. This company was very clear about arrival, parking, pictures of the parking attendant and your guide. Andrew was great and pointed out things we never would have seen on our own. He answered all our questions. The tour shows you beautiful animals and flora in wonderful surroundings. And his stories are informative and engaging. The tour ends at a beautiful beach inside the park. Ask for Andrew when you book this tour and maybe he’ll find you a unicorn.
★★★★★
We had an excellent tour with Jason - he was an awesome guide with great conversation and amazing animal spotting skills. We would not have seen half of the animals if we didn't have a guide. Would recommend to others.
★★★★★
This was a fantastic guided tour. We learned a lot from Jason and got to see several sloths, birds, among other things along the path. Super friendly tour group and we met nice people along the way.
★★★★★
Jason was fabulous. From sending us detailed info, photos and video of where we would meet and park, to sharing so much of his knowledge about the animals, park and Costa Rica. At the end, he sent us photos and video of the wildlife we saw. We saw 2 toed, 3 toed sloths and it was incredible. Also, a nesting bird, porcupine, Jesus lizard, sleeping frog and bag, and more. Jason was adept at locating the animals and the telescope made it so wonderful to see them up close. Absolutely recommend this tour.
★★★★★
Jason was our tour guide and he was awesome. He was really engaging and we learned so much. You can tell that he really loves what he does and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. He was great, 100% would recommend.
★★★★★
Andrew was an excellent host! He provided an entertaining and knowledge-filled experience that started from the beginning of the tour and lasted all the way to the end. His pass allowed for all in the party to keep up and his ability to find wildlife of all kinds was amazing. from spiders to butterflies, basilisks, howler monkeys, and sloths. He provided details of the wildlife and demonstrated his exceptional knowledge of biology. This is one tour I would take again and again
★★★★★
We had a lovely day at Manuel Antonio Park with Andrew as our guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the park, Costa Rica and all manner of wildlife and nature. His expertise in spotting animals was incredible, as was his assistance in photography especially through the scope. We were able to see monkeys, sloths, toucans and much more. The company was easy to book with and helped us find safe, secure parking very close to the park! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
★★★★★
Absolutely Amazing. Andrew was our private guide and so knowledgeable- he was great with my girls (6 and 7) and really explained in detail the science behind the animals. He was friendly and funny and got great photos through the scope for us. The parking directions were so easy and right outside the park. Highly recommend. A+++
★★★★★
Jason is an absolutely awesome guide! He guided my wife and me for two of the very best birding days of our lives! In addition to Carara National Park, he took us to multiple other birding locations which we would never have found on our own and which were ever birdier than Carara! His ability to spot birds AND to recognize their calls is unparalleled, so we were able to see way more of our target species than we expected PLUS rarities too. Add to that all of the snacks and drinks that he carries in his "kitchen", his great choice of lunch spots, and his tremendous (and infectious) enthusiasm for birding... Jason is a gem! I will be recommending his services to all of my friends who travel to Costa Rica! Thanks again for a great time! Pura vida, Jason!!
★★★★★
Un gran experiencia. Nuestro deseo fue ampliamente cumplido. El Guía, sr Marino, extraordinario, nos hizo ver los Quetzales y sus explicaciones fueron excelentes y nos hicieron gozar de la visita.
★★★★★
Andrew was an excellent tour guide with an excellent knowledge of everything you encounter in Manuel Antonio.
★★★★★
Andrew was an exceptional guide. We were an international group of 8 people and he really took us under his wing, threw great jokes, spoke perfect English and told really informational facts about the animals and plants. We saw so many animals. It almost seemed like the other guides just followed Andrew, as he was the best at spotting animals up in the trees and in the bushes. There is no point in going to the park without a guide, as it is pretty much impossible to see anything without the telescopes that the guides have. I absolutely have nothing bad to say about this tour.
★★★★★
This tour was a great experience for us! Beforehand, Wakoo Tours gave us detailed instructions, so we were well-prepared. Our tour guide Jason was terrific! He taught us so much about the rainforest and helped us see animals that we couldn't have found on our own. Also, his stories were very entertaining. We really enjoyed his tour and highly recommend it!
★★★★★
BEST TOUR WE HAD ON OUT 10 DAY TRIP THROUGHOUT COSTA RICA! Jason was absolutely amazing, he was very intelligent but also very fun! he took amazing pictures on his beautiful scope and lens for us! will definitely make sure to organize another tour with him on our next trip back!
★★★★★
We had a great time at Manual Antonio. A guided tour is a MUST, Andrew was great and pointed out things we never would have seen on our own. He answered all our questions. This company was very clear about arrival, parking , etc when you arrive. Which is really important because the locals are SUPER aggressive when you arrive even if you tell them you have a tour set up. Book this tour, ask for Andrew and ask him to find you a unicorn! 😊
★★★★☆
Jason was a good guide. We saw a couple sloths high in the trees, bats, and some monkeys along the main trail, but saw better monkeys after the tour was done and we started walking the other trails (some were difficult and some were not). Pretty good snorkeling near the rocks.
★★★★★
I would call James, or guide just as Eagleeye James because could notice hidden animals we couldn’t ever! Perfect eplanation of animals. We catched 6 sloths durung the tour! Nevertheless James is a funy guy and professional and experienced guide and expert of the wildlife of Costa Rica!
★★★★★
Wow, this tour was something else: very informative, entertaining, saw many animals. We are very happy, that booked this tour.
★★★★★
What an awesome tour! So glad we did this! We got to see a sloth, and 2 fer de lance snakes! Many other animals and I’m just so grateful for the education we received through our guide
★★★★★
We loved our guided tour through Manuel Antonio Park with Wakoo Tours! Jason (the owner) was super organized and provided us with everything we needed to know about what to bring, how to get there, where to park, etc. Our guide Andrew wowed us with his ability to spot creatures we NEVER would have found on our own, plus he shared plenty of fascinating facts and made sure we got photos & videos through his scope. After our 2.5 hour tour through jungle Andrew dropped our group off at the beautiful beach where we enjoyed a lovely swim then wandered back at our own pace. Highly recommend & worth every penny! Just be sure to go as early as you can, the park was fairly empty at 7am when we arrived but after that it fills up quick!
★★★★★
★★★★★
Jason from Wakoo Tours was very helpful. We knew exactly where to park for safety and convenience near the entrance. He knew we really wanted to see sloths and we saw 5 that day. It was amazing.
★★★★★
I can't say enough about Jason. When we first booked via AirBnb, we got VERY detailed driving and parking directions. Navigating to the national park isn't easy, but his explicit directions made it stress-free. Jason himself was like a ninja. If a leaf rustled he'd immediately spot the animal or insect, direct his telescope to it, and allowed each person to take a look. We saw so much! On the way back we could only spot the brightly colored crabs by ourselves. At the end of the tour he Airdropped all the photos he's taken, free.
★★★★★
Booked this as a last minute adventure, and couldn't be happier with how it all came together. Communication was very clear from start, parking information was perfectly described, and the entire tour was magical. We saw different animals and insects within 2 minutes of walking with our guide. I don't know how anyone would catch the things we saw without a guide like Wakoo. Our guide Andrew was phenomenal. Andrew also offered to take photos of everything we saw using my phone! They came out SO amazing!
★★★★★
Even though this review is coming in late, I need to let you all know just how awesome of a tour we had with Jason of Wakoo Tours. I actually took the same tour 1 year ago with my mom and had such an amazing experience, I had to bring my wife and kids to experience the tour and to meet Jason. Jason has such a keen eye and can spot animals in the trees that were hard to see even after he pointed them out. Don’t worry though if you can’t see them, Jason has this cool spotting scope that he sets up for you to get a close-up view and it has an attachment that he can connect his iPhone to and take pics and videos through the scoop. At the end of tour, he will share all the pics he took via AirDrop. Jason was so full of knowledge and told great and funny stories that kept us all laughing as well as giving us some education on the animals. My family and I had such an amazing time with Jason and I know you will as well. Please don’t waste your money by going to the park and think you can do it without a tour guide! Thank you again Jason!! May God keep blessing you and your family!!
★★★★★
Emocionante paseo. Sorpresa ante la percepción y conocimiento del guía Jason. Pudimos compartir todas las imágenes fácilmente para guardar este precioso recuerdo.
★★★★★
Amazing tour, amazing staff and very organized timing. We recommend it highly and maybe one day we will do it again.
★★★★★
Fantastic tour. Jeremy was brilliant and knew loads about the animals. He was great with our kids too. Book a guide as you really do see so much more! The guides all work together as well and tell each other where to spot animals. We managed to see a baby sloth and it’s mummy. Really great experience. We had two young kids and they found it quite hard work, but totally worth it. It is possible to take a stroller but worth knowing there are some bits which are very hard to push on.
★★★★★
We spent the day with Jason, the owner of Wakoo Tours and our birding expert for the trip. Jason picked us up at 5:30 am in Jaco and we started identifying birds almost immediately. We then went to Carara National Park and birded along the trails. Jason is an outstanding birder and guide. He knows the Park and it's birds, where they hang out, and their behaviors. He uses a top-level spotting scope with a cell phone mount to get videos and images. He did a great job setting up the scope for us, but remember to bring your own binoculars! He took us to lunch at a local buffet and we had the best casado we've had during our stay. After lunch and espressos, we did more birding until 3:30 pm. Jason kept track of all our positive IDs for us, then verified them afterwards - over 100 new species for us! Jason also took great care of us, providing hot coffee, tea, cold water and sodas, and healthy snacks. If it matters, he uses a very comfortable, clean SUV with AC. Overall, we had an incredible day birding with Jason and we hope to join him again at Manuel Antonio in April.
★★★★★
I met Jason for the first time last year and did different tours with him. As my experience was nothing less then excellent, and I returned to Costa Rica this year I did a few trips with him again. One of the trips was going to San Gerardo de Dota to see the Quetzal. I did this tour with one other guest and Jason (of course) didn’t disappoint as a guide. He is the best. He knows his birds, knows their calls and (maybe most important), he knows how to spot them. We saw quetzals as well as many other beautiful birds. We also went to 2 restaurants during this tour (breakfast and lunch). Food was nice, but the best part were the gardens of the restaurant with feeders….also saw many many species of birds over there. I fully recommend Jason as your guide when taking trips in and from the Quepos/ Manuel Antonio area.
★★★★★
It was so nice to drive up to this cloud forest with Jason. He makes everyone feel at home with coffee and snacks. Seeing these birds in the wild was a truly amazing experience. The guide is essential as they know just where to go. We saw many other birds too and enjoyed great food and views.
★★★★★
We hired Wakoo Tours for a birding day trip in Puntarenas, Costa Rica including Carara National Park and Tarcoles River. Jason was waiting for us when our cruise ship docked at port. We walked up to a super clean and spacious SUV with cold AC and an ice chest packed with cold drinks. Jason’s birding skills were amazing including identifying all birds by sound so that they were all quickly located. In addition to birding, Jason had an extensive knowledge of all types of nature including flora and fauna any type of wildlife. Jason is very skilled in cell phone and camera apps combined with his scope allowed for phenomenal photos and videos which he shared with us. Absolutely Wonderful day!
★★★★★
This trip is a must for bird watchers. Our hope was to see a quetzal. We saw 3 males and one female. Besides the quetzal we saw 74 other species of birds. Our guide, Jason, took such good care of us—carefully scheduling breakfast and lunch in between hikes. His knowledge of birds and ability to spot them was amazing. What an awesome experience!
★★★★★
Had a wonderful trip to Carara national park with our guide Jason. Jason is so knowledgeable when it comes to birding. Within minutes we had seen many different birds. We also saw a troops of Howler and Capuchin monkeys. But I really wanted to see the Scarlet Macaws, close up, perched in trees. Jason knew exactly where to find them. Within minutes he had driven us to a site where Scarlet Macaws were nesting. There I was able to get good close up shots of five Scarlet Macaws. Then Jason took us to another site where there were even more Scarlet Macaws. I was so delighted to see so many Scarlet Macaws up close. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and would highly recommend Jason.
★★★★★
My family had a wonderful tour with Jason yesterday. He is knowledgeable, charismatic and funny, and has amazing stories to share. He truly went above and beyond to make sure my family had everything we needed to have a great day in the park. We saw sloths, monkeys, snakes, iguanas, and more. We wondered if we could see a lot without a guide but we would've missed it all. The great thing about getting a guide is they communicate with each other so you have all these expert eyes searching for animals. Excellent experience. Thank you Jason!

This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! I don’t think you can find a better guide than Jason. He’s so knowledgeable and personable. We loved the day so much we booked another day of birding with Jason! Can’t recommend this tour and guide enough! We saw over 75 bird species!
★★★★★
I did an all-day private tour of Carara National Park and had a very memorable experience. Jason is an outstanding guide. He has sharp eyes and hearing so we pretty much saw 99% of the birds we were after. Jason is also really fun to hang out with. He's personable, hospitable, and passionate about giving you the best experience. He's crafted his tour so you get the best of three types of habitats and local hotspots (not to mention the best places in Carara). I'm a serious birder, so he provided the intensity I was looking for. I can see Jason being a terrific guide for all levels though. I am recommending Jason to all the Birders I know that plan on visiting Costa Rica. I also plan on returning to Costa RIca specifically to do another Birding Tour with Jason.
★★★★★
Jason is an exceptional guide with incredible knowledge of each bird species in Costa Rica. Wonderful
★★★★★
Felix was our guide on the morning of 7 January and we both felt he was outstanding. We were in awe of his ability to spot animals through the thick undergrowth and way up in the trees. Additionally, he was very patient and knowledgeable with all the questions we had related to the flora and fauna of the area. On the other hand, booking this excursion through Viator was much more convoluted than it needed to be. For example: Why would it be necessary to send six emails, 5 in one day related to the trip, many of which were pages long? And why would it be necessary to send a link with a "Reply", but no instructions on what to reply to? Finally, what was the point in sending information on when the park is open at night when our tour was clearly slated to start at 7:30 AM?
★★★★★
Jason of Wakoo tours was an amazing guide. He went out of his way to ensure my family was comfortable and was so patient with my youngest! I would highly recommend!!
★★★★★
If you're in the Manuel Antonio area and looking for a great guide for the park, look no further than Jason with Costa Rica Wáköö Tours. In addition to having a keen eye, Jason had me cracking up multiple times with his jokes and commentary. Such a personality! I booked the private tour which included transportation to and from lodging, snacks, and all the pictures he was able to take. I'd absolutely book through him again. Pura vida!
★★★★★
Best tour guide. His keen eye for the smallest and subtlest details and great skill allowed us to see several groups and species of monkeys, sloths, reptiles, bats, birds, insects, etc. So good
★★★★★
Jason was awesome! My husband and I ended up being the only ones scheduled for our tour that morning, so we basically had a private tour with Jason. He's so funny and super knowledgeable about all the animals/birds in the park. There's no way we would have seen even half of the animals, if he hadn't shown them to us. Definitely recommend Jason to anyone wanting an amazing tour experience at Manuel Antonio!
★★★★★
Jason - he was an excellent guide. He is profesional and knowledgeable. He helped us see many animals and also take amazing pics (with his lens) He recommends us a place to park. Send a whastapp to him to get more info. I recommend to take a guide at the park. One like Jason, not just anyone …
★★★★★
Learned so much about all different kinds of animals. Our tour guide Carlos was so knowledgeable, wow! We saw monkeys, sloths, spiders, frogs and a beautiful bird. Many thanks!
★★★★★
I would highly recommend going through Manuel Antonio with Jason! His knowledge of the wildlife was very apparent (he often helped other guides find the animals), he took incredible videos/photos for us and airdropped them at the end, and he was also pretty funny which made the experience more enjoyable! Very personable and well-experienced guide, I wouldn’t second guess it!
★★★★★
My sister and I had a wonderful tour with Jason! He was extremely knowledgeable about the animals, insects, and plants! He easily answered all our questions, gave additional information, and spotted animals and insects from far away we would have never seen! Thank you, Jason for a fantastic tour!
★★★★★
Andre was exceptional! He was even pointing out animals to the other tour guides. He helped us book a snorkeling trip afterwards with a a big discount. Definitely worth the money!
★★★★★
Our tour guide Jason Solano was excellent - very knowledgeable on the area and was always able to spot exotic animals for us to see. He ever provided high quality photos of all the animals we encountered.
★★★★★
Jason was so nice, so welcoming and wow he knew so much! Myself and my friend joined a group tour and despite the heavy rain it was amazing. We got to see some really amazing sights - it was awesome. He was such great company and has an INCREDIBLE eye! We saw sloths, monkeys, amazing wildlife and then on the way back Jason spotted a snake!!
★★★★★
Jason was knowledgeable and funny. He spotted many creatures that we could not have done alone. The pictures he gives you are high quality and beautiful. Highly recommend this tour.
★★★★★
Jason was amazing! All I wanted my whole trip was to see a wild Sloth and he found us SIX! We did his tour on our last day and I had almost givin up hope. He was also super friendly, patient with us buying our tickets, and very charismatic. If definitely plan on doing his tour again next time I am there and recommend it to anyone going to this area. He also found a bunch of other cool creatures for us too and took such amazing pictures and videos which he sent us. An unforgettable experience and his tour was cheaper than all the others we found. Literally the best money we spent. Thank you so much!!
★★★★★
Outstanding 3 hours tour through the park, ending with a fun swim off a park beach. Jason was a fantastic guide, with clear experience spotting wildlife all along the hike, from sloths and howling monkeys to toucans to iguanas and so many other fascinating species. The logistics were made easy, and he made our family tour ( including 3 and 5 year olds) one of these unforgettable experiences in Costa Rica. Thank you Jason!
★★★★★
Our tour of Manual Antonio with Jason as our tour guide was wonderful! We would recommend him 100% to anyone thinking of visiting Manual Antonio. We learned so much more than we expected, Jason was knowledgeable, entertaining and incredibly good at what he does. It is hard to know from on-line reviews and what people say, but the reviews were spot on. It was a great experience for our family, Jason is skilled at spotting even the smallest of creatures and could answer all our questions about the animals, insects and their habitat. Thank you for a wonderful and unforgettable experience Jason! Steph, Dan, Alex and Nick
★★★★★
Jason is an amazing guide. He had great equipment and was an expert at spotting animals. Often he would be the first to spot an animal and he was willing to help other guides. He would very quickly set up the scope for us and helped with taking pictures through the scope. His English is excellent. He has the highest level of certification.
★★★★★
This tour for me was surprisingly not what I expected! In a few words, I thought I would walk along trails simply waiting for a guide to spot a creature for you to see and then move on to another. With Jason, on the other hand, it was an entire educational experience: First, he would spot the tiniest of creatures , only God knows how! I could not even see some through the telescope. He would set the telescope fur us to see the animals, and then he would proceed with a mini lecture about the specimen, its habitat, and other intricacies of the jungle!! I learned more about flora and fauna with Jason than I did in my Biology and Botany College courses!! I felt as if I was in a Biology Lab. His passion for nature, animals in particular, was so contagious!! Jason is definitely a professional , he is not just a tour guide, he is a naturalist with so much patience and passion, time in his tour really flies by!! My son and I truly enjoyed the tour with Jason. I highly recommend it
★★★★★
My family and I chose Jason from Wakoo Tours as our private tour guide and we are so happy we did. Jason met us outside our hotel which was right next to the front gate of the park. Before the tour even started, Jason noticed a sloth sunning himself in the tree right above our hotel. As soon as we started the tour inside the park, Jason started noticing different animals that my family and I would have walked right past without him. Jason would set up his scope for us to get a closer look at the animals and to make it even better, his iPhone had a special attachment that attached to his scope which allowed him to take super clear, up close, and clear pictures which he gladly shared with us after the tour. Out of approximately 500 tour guides at the park, only 16 are certified as “Nature Specialist” and yes, Jason is one of the 16!! Jason spoke perfect English and Spanish and had my family and I cracking up for the entire tour. Please do yourself a favor and book a tour with Jason. I promise you will not be disappointed!!
★★★★★
This was a fantastic tour, definitely a highlight for our Costa Rica Trip! Jeremias was our guide and really made the trip that much more enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out a lot of wildlife and interesting facts. The 4x4 ride was at a comfortable pace, slow enough to take in the sights and stop for wildlife. There was a little hiking involved to get to the waterfalls, but it wasn't too steep or on rugged terrain. At both waterfalls we got to take time to swim in the pools and jump off the rocks into them. They made sure that we were able to take plenty of time to enjoy every part of the adventure for as long as we wanted! If you want something out of the ordinary, away from the touristy stuff this is the tour you want to take for sure!
★★★★★
Great experience. We booked a private tour (mom, dad, and 17yo daughter) and it was wonderful right from the beginning. Jason was prepared, knowledgeable, funny, and energetic. His scope and camera have amazing detail, and he takes photos through the scope to send to you later (at no additional charge!). As soon as we walked through the entrance, he pointed his scope behind us and located two toucans a couple hundred yards away. I'm not sure how he saw them (and anything else he found), so we joked that he glued them there that morning. We saw a snake eating an anole, which was eating a grasshopper. As we watched, the grasshopper (still in the anole's mouth) was was attacked by a wasp. In end, the snake won, and the other three perished, but the grasshopper got the worst of it. The actual action was 6 feet from us, but it was capture on video. He spotted multiple sloths (including two with babies), as well as iguanas, capuchin monkeys, and many beautiful insects we would have never seen. He entertained us with personal stories about travels to America, and his mom's superstitions. Ask him about his mom's opinion on eating certain land crabs. All in all, it was a great tour. I'm sure the group tour would be great as well. Highly recommended, and worth the price. We have all the video and pics to prove it.
★★★★★
Our guided tour through Manuel Antonio was AMAZING! Our tour guide Jason was unbelievable. He saw animals that we would have never seen on our own and he even pointed out animals to the other tour guides who had missed them. He was funny, super knowledgeable and great at speaking English. The tour was seriously worth every penny for our family of 4 (kids ages: 12 and 9.) I would do it again- and request Jason again!
★★★★★
Jason was amazing! We weren’t even 10 steps into the park and he had already pointed out 10 different species of animals. He clearly loves what he does and made our experience one I will never forget!! Thank you Jason!
★★★★★
Amazing tour! Jason is super knowledgeable and super fun to listen too. I highly recommend his tour! He even helped us with tickets and parking when we had trouble on our end. Great guy and tour!
★★★★★
Our private tour with Jason was simply amazing! We saw many different animals including the elusive sloth. We were impressed with Jason’s extensive knowledge of the rainforest’s flora and fauna. He was highly-skilled in bird calls and spotting animals we didn’t even know were there. Jason used his special scope to show us close up views of the animals. He also took photos and video of all the animals for us. If it were possible to give Jason more than 5 stars, I would! Jason’s tour is a must-do when visiting the Manuel Antonio National Park.
★★★★★
Jason was an amazing guide! so knowledgeable and overall a great person. he made the experience so entertaining! I would 100% recommend him to others
★★★★★
So glad we chose Wakoo tours! We took a 3 hour tour of Manuel Antonio. - excellent communication before, during, and after our tour - super knowledgeable guide; Jason was amazing at finding animals in the park! He has a sharp eye and also communicated with other guides to make sure nothing is missed! - Jason shared the photos he took with his scope with us! - generous with his time and knowledge, abs great conversation in general! A fun day.
★★★★★
El tour estuvo muy bien, Jason lo dio todo para que pudieramos ver quetzales y muchos otros tipos de aves. Muy recomendable!
★★★★★
Jason of Wáköö tours is the bomb! Both my son and I love bird watching, and were excited to come to Costa Rica to add to our life lists. Before we did Jason’s VIP birding tour we had added maybe sixty Costa Rican birds to our list over nine days, and we were happy with that. Jason’s expertise blew that out of the water! 80+ birds in in six hours. We would have been happy with 20 new species. The highlight of the expedition was the Black Hawk-Eagle and five other different birds of prey. Jason is a serious birder and loves birds just as much as we do. If you want to find those hard to see beautiful Costa Rican birds. Jason is your man. We also did Wáköö tours Rainmaker night tour, and had a blast seeing frogs, snakes, and other creatures of the nighttime rain forest. Jason was super knowledgeable of everything we found and answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend Jason and Wáköö Tours
★★★★★
The Manuel Antonio tour with Jason was absolutely amazing! He spotted so many different animals and was so knowledgeable! He was often helping other guides with animal spotting. Not only was he knowledgeable but he was funny and kept the group entertained. He was definitely the most lively tour guide out of all the guides we passed in the park. His tour is worth every penny!
★★★★★
Besides the beautiful nature that Costa Rica has to offer, Jason is a wonderful, passionate, intelligent and outstandingly friendly person. He really cared about all the wildlife and has an eye to see animals, better than anyone I’ve ever met. This tour was well worth it and I’m very glad to have had Jason as our guide. His tour is an absolute must when in Costa Rica.
★★★★★
Jason was a perfect fit for our family of three on our private tour of Manuel Antonio. His tour was diverse offering glimpses of frogs, monkeys, sloths, birds, special plants and filling in with great knowledge of the park and it’s ecosystem. His camera and special attachments made the tour exciting with up-close viewing and amazing pictures. Highly recommend!
★★★★★
Jason really knew his stuff. I could ask about any of the plants I saw and he knew all about it. He knew all of the animals, birds, insects. He could explain everything. He had an unreal ability to spot things I never would have seen and he could find them in his scope way faster than I could even point. It really made a big difference to have him there.
★★★★★
Jason was so knowledgeable and engaging and made learning about all the animals super fun. He spent extra time with us and went above and beyond! Definitely go on this tour you got more than you pay for and it was a fantastic experience if we didn’t do the tour we would not have seen anything.
★★★★★
Jason was a fantastic tour guide for this experience! He's very personable and fun. We got to see so many animals that we would not have been able to spot on our own. It was a great day!
★★★★★
100% the best tour guide for Manual Antonio Park. We took a private tour with a group of 5 and Jason was amazing from start to finish. He spotted creatures and wildlife from distances away and taught us the history of each one. He also knows fact about the country and has "Dad-jokes" to follow with them. A lot of the guides would even ask him questions as they were giving their tour. Jason was definitely the best and I highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for a tour of the park. The tour lasted about 4 hours which on our Airbnb reservation said it was only 2 hours. So, please prepare for that amount of time when you do reserve the reservation.
★★★★★
Wow, honestly strop scrolling and just book with Jason or you will be disappointed. I took over 10 tours in all over Costa rica and he was by FAR our favorite of the whole trip. First getting a guide in Manuel Antonio National Park is necessary or your going to miss everything you came to costa rica for (do not try to save money and go without a guide). He points out more animals/ insects / etc in the first 10 minutes of the tour than you have probably seen in any other part of costa rica, all while being funny and super informative. He spotted everything, and literally 3 other guides 2 behind and 2 in front of us were asking for help to spot and he had to even set up the telescope for the other guide. He found a super rare poisonous snake that was impossible to see without his knowledge and the tour behind us even asked if they could look in our lens.. haha. Our whole family loved it. This was a real treat and made our last day in Costa rica so special
★★★★★
My favorite part was how amazing our tour guide Jason was. He was so informative, explained everything so thoroughly and had the skills to find so many different species of animals that were very difficult to see. He took pictures through his telescope for us and he had an outstanding personality. He was very respectful, based his guide off of our needs and he definitely had us laughing.
★★★★★
Jason's tour was amazing from the start. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the flora and fauna in the park and also great at storytelling. He was super accommodating to the group so that we could all see out of the scope and very quick with the iPhone to capture some amazing nature shots for us. His lens was super high quality with a wide field of view and he was very quick to spot and capture many different types of wildlife including at least 6-7 sloths. Would highly recommend!
★★★★★
We had an amazing time on our tour! Jason was personable, funny and knowledgeable. He had such an eye for finding wildlife that we would have walked right past and helped me get some incredible pictures!!! I definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the park to enhance your experience.
★★★★★
Jason was our guide and knew so many facts about Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio Park, and all the animals. He used his spotting scope well and took pictures with your phone if you needed the help. Excellent personality and was very personable! He worked and helped the other guides locate animals we had found first which tells you a lot about his character. All around the best tour we have ever taken at that park.
★★★★★
Vielen Dank, Jason
★★★★★
We had Jason as our guide in Manuel Antonio and enjoyed him so much we asked him to guide us on a tour in Carara. He did not disappoint. We saw amazing animals (Macaus, golden sparrows, large rat, and even a rare ghost bat) and learned about the forest, ecosystem, and country as a whole. He picked a spot less frequented by visitors to get a more intimate experience. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about nature. I highly recommend him.
★★★★★
Highlight of our 9 day trip. Jason was wonderful - very knowledgable and a lovely person too. We saw multiple sloths, monkeys and lots of other wildlife. With his “telescope” we could even see the color of a dragonfly’s eyes (bright blue). Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
★★★★★
Jason is fantastic. He is a true animal whisperer. He helped us see so many birds and animals. His English is excellent. We actually booked him for two different parks because loved him so much.
★★★★★
Jason is very knowledgeable regarding the flora and fauna and adept at finding the animals in the canopy. We were able to see two and three toed sloths, white faced and howler monkeys, deer, coatis, agouti, frogs and multiple lizards. Very good value.
★★★★★
We almost skipped the tour guide to save some money. What a HUGE mistake that would have been. We would have missed about 90% of the awesomeness. Jason was like an eagle, spotting all kinds of beautiful things. He was incredibly knowledgeable, spoke great English and made us laugh a lot along the way. He also had awesome equipment and helped us capture some great photos on our phones! Here are just a few. One of the highlights of our trip!!
★★★★★
Jason was a fantastic tour guide; very knowledgeable about the animals and plants. There are some beautiful views, don’t miss out in a great adventure.
★★★★★
We had one of our best times in Costa Rica during this tour. I can’t mention how important it is to have a guide while walking through the park. And even more than that... the right guide. Someone like Jason, with such an extensive naturist background, he was finding animals immediately. And his knowledgeable commentary is simply incredible. We saw sloths(both 2/3 toed), monkeys, crocs, frogs, butterflies, birds, anteaters, crabs, lizards, and more.
★★★★★
Such a rewarding experience! Jason is super knowledgeable and you are guaranteed to see a lot on your tour. Definitely recommend!
★★★★★
Jason was amazing!!! Thank you for making our trip such a pleasure. We had transportation to the park and my wife and I had planned to just walk through on our own, we were greeted by a few gentleman and had a question, Jason stepped in and interpreted our question and we said Thank you so much for your help and we went into the park. We quickly turned around and said are you available for a tour? Jason said yes... As we walked through the park he quickly spotted and pointed out many animals that we NEVER would have seen on our own... LOL Jason was very personable and professional. Our trip to the park was made very memorable by Jasons personality. Keep up the great work and customer service.
★★★★★
Jason is an exceptional guide. He has the skill set, patience and keen eye to make any tour special. He uses great equipment and has a practiced hand at helping you take special photos using your own iPhone camera. Whether it is spotting a sleeping three-toed sloth high in the canopy, or the delicate wings of a multi-colored dragonfly, Jason and Wakoo Tours is the trip to take. Jason knows the flora and the fauna. His ability to see, and hear, animals and insects that you would otherwise miss going through the Park on your own. Highly recommend! Check out these recent photos!
★★★★★
The tour with Jason was just awesome. He spotted for us the greatest wildlife animals where we initially saw nothing but trees and leaves. Also you could tell how dedicated he was. He took hours and hours to explain everything we came along in every detail. He made us see sloths, various birds, spiders, monkeys and so on and ended his tour at a beautiful beach. Thank you very much Jason for this wonderful experience!
★★★★★
We are a group of 5 University for Peace students (CR). Our tour with Jeremy was amzing! I had no idea what to expect but this exceeded everything. We've seen so many animals and Jeremy knew everything about them. He helped us getting the best pictures/videos and he is just a fun guy to be around. The beach in Manuel Antonio is definitely in my top 3 beaches that I have seen in the world - AMAZING. I highly recommend this tour to everyone it was so worth it!
★★★★★
We did both the Manuel Antonio and the mangrove kayak tour with Jeremy and we absolutely loved it! He showed us so many animals, answered all our questions and was really funny. 100% recommended!
★★★★★
Jedes Mal wieder!
★★★★★
Jason is a delightful person and incredibly knowledgeable about birds. We did a full day private trip with him in Carara and it was filled with amazement -- both about what he was able to locate and the beauty and tranquility of the area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
★★★★★
I did this tour with Jason (as well as other tours I booked with Wáköö tours). I liked walking the forest, especially on the hanging bridges, liked watching the waterfall. It was really quiet in the area, which gave a better opportunity to see all the different species of birds (the white falcon to me was the catch of the day). I wouldn’t have seen 10% of what I saw, if I was there on my own. It is like Jason just smells them :) He attracts the birds with his whistles (it is funny to hear them reply!) and knows a lot about the different species. Also liked the fact that Jason takes the time on his tours, he is very patient and a bird lover through and through. It was me (and not him) that said ‘it is time to go back’. The best bird watching guide ever.
★★★★★
This I think is one of the most expensive tours Wáköö tours offers. However it is well worth the money as it is a long day and the area is about 2,5-3 hours away from Quepos (where I was staying). It was the best tour I had with Wáköö tours. The area is just gorgeous, temperature is more moderate (started with 6 degrees Celsius, this went up to about 20 during the day). There was little humidity, so circumstances are excellent for bird watching. The guide, Jason knew where to go and within half an hour we saw the first quetzal, the main prize! But we saw more quetzals in the morning.....beautiful! Jason explained a lot about the different kinds of birds we saw that day. It was just nothing less than a perfect tour! Can fully recommend this if you want see these fantastic rare birds.
★★★★★
This was one the highlight tours for me. I wouldn’t hesitate to go with Jason again to Esquipulas (and other areas) the next time I visit Costa Rica. Among other places we stopped at a (quite) hidden restaurant with a big garden. You’ll need ‘more eyes’ over there as there were so many birds at the same time (for example toucans, many different kinds of hummingbirds etc). It was quite easy to make pictures of these birds up close. It was well worth the money and a day well spent!
★★★★★
This was a really nice tour I did with one other guest and Jason (the owner of Wáköö tours). He is so experienced, he sees birds everywhere, knows them by name, does no how to imitate the birds to attract them (and it works). Personally I think the down side about this park, is that there are many people and groups walking around. Much more than in other parks and areas. The upside was Jason’s guidance and the fact that besides birds we saw iguanas and sloths.
★★★★★
We did an almost 5 hour long private hike with Jason, owner of Wakoo Tours. AMAZING experience. His knowledge of everything Costa Rican is expansive and his passion and enthusiasm are contagious. His ability to spot the tiniest creature in the forest is uncanny. We saw sloths with babies, monkeys, deadly insects, beautiful elusive birds, and camouflaged lizards. We spent time on one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and finished with delicious casado for lunch. I would do this again and again as every trip is a different experience.
★★★★★
The tour at the parc was incredibly fun with Jason. He is extremely knowledgeable about everything in the parc, from animals to plants, he knows everything, just ask. He also has a really good eye, we'd be walking and talking and out of a sudden he will see the smallest animal from a far distance!!! So cool! It would have been a mistake going to the park without Jason! I a 100% recommend Jason as your guide for the tour at the park. You will not regret:) we got to see and learn more about the nature the animals the history of Manual Anyonio Park. Please do yourself a favour, and visit the park with him! (Bonus: we got to see the Common Potoo, last time it was seen in the park was 4 months ago 😉)
★★★★★
Absolutely loved the tour with Jason. He was incredibly knowledgeable. And we were able to see several kinds of monkeys, sloths, rare birds and even a Fer-de-lance from a healthy distance. Highly recommend!
★★★★★
While staying for a few days i Manuel Antonio I took a privat guided birdwatching tour to Esquipulas with Jason Solano. He is a very good birdguide and a nice, relaxed and funny person. Esquipulas is a small countryside town located ca 16 km from Manuel Antonio. This rural area is considered to be the best spot for birding in the area of Manuel Antonio and Quepos. During our tour we had 78 species including white-crested coquette, white hawk and king vulture. We also had a nice breakfast with a beautiful view. If you are a birder and stay in Manuel Antonio or Quepos I advise you to go birding with Jason to Esquipulas. You won’t regret it.
★★★★★
During my birdingtrip in Costa Rica I stayed a few days in Carara. 1 day I took a guided fullday birdingtour in Carara National Park with Jason. Jason was incredibly friendly, patient and knowledgeable about birds and birdcalls. He worked very hard to find my target birds During our tour we had 64 species including mangrove hummingbird, 4 species of trogons, blue-crowned, red-capped and orange-collared manakin and a close up of great tinamou. If you are thinking about taking a trip to Costa Rica and carara/Manuel Antonio area Jason is the perfect bird guide for you
★★★★★
Our private tour of Manuel Antonio completely blew away expectations! Jason was incredibly friendly, informative and best of all genuinely excited to teach us about the unique animals and plants found in Manuel Antonio. It is clear after just a few minutes with him that nature is his passion. The level of detail and in-depth knowledge Jason has about each of these unique species was beyond impressive. Additionally, we got some incredible shots of sloths, toucans, monkeys and many other animals with his help and most importantly his sharp eye for spotting these animals from far away. You will not find a better or more knowledgeable guide in Manuel Antonio and I cannot express enough how much we enjoyed our time on this guided tour.
★★★★★
We were so lucky that our hotel connected us to this tour company, as we really had the best time! Everything from booking to pick-up to drop-off was organised smoothly. Our group was small enough that we got to move through the park at a relaxed pace whilst still seeing loads. Jason’s ability to spot some of the wildlife that was so well hidden was impressive! We saw frogs, birds, monkeys of all sorts, and best of all - SLOTHS!
★★★★★
Jason's tour was the highlight of our Costa Rica travels and was by far the BEST part of Costa Rica. Jason is everything one could hope for in a tour guide; very knowledgable, kind, funny, courageous, and very much liked by his peers as was evident as we walked around Manuel Antonio. We were able to see every animal we wanted to see and even ones we had not known about or expected. It was a very enjoyable tour and Jason gladly took additional time out for us during our morning. We are forever grateful for a phenomenal tour through Manuel Antonio with sights and sounds that we will remember forever!
★★★★★
This tour was amazing and very informative. Really enjoy exploring with my guide. I felt very welcomed
★★★★★
We had a wonderful tour with Jason! He was extremely knowledgeable and personable, pointing out so much wildlife that we would never have seen! I would absolutely do this tour again!!
★★★★★
My family and I took a trip to Costa Rica a few years back and went to Manuel Antonio National Park for a tour. Jason was our personal tour guide, and let me say .. it was my favorite part of the trip! Not only was he super knowledgable on all the wildlife we saw, he made the experience interactive for us all and most importantly made it memorable. I was amazed at the number of varying species he was able to point out, and details about each and every one. For my siblings and I, as young kids, Jason would make up stories along the way about each animal we saw and what they may have been thinking. If you are thinking about taking a trip to Costa Rica, or Manuel Antonio Park I definitely recommend setting up a tour with Jason, you won't regret it!
★★★★★
Jason was very knowledgeable and informative and entertaining. He was able to patiently direct our attention to the wondrous wildlife that Manuel Antonio has to offer, but is often hard to spot with an untrained eye. I would love to return and do it again. Pura Vida!
★★★★★
Jason was fantastic! My family and I couldn't have enjoyed our time more! Jason mixed humor and knowledge in such a fabulous way - not only did we learn a lot, but we felt like we had made a wonderful new friend at the end of the day. He found birds and animals that were almost hidden and he made sure that we made the most of our time in Manuel Antonio. Would highly recommend booking a tour with him!
★★★★★
Jason is an amazing guide. He is very patient and knowledgable. Our family had a terrific time in Costa Rica and our tour with Jason was the highlight of our trip. Jason has a unique ability to spot the park's wildlife and a seemingly encyclopedic knowledge of all of the park's habitants. If you are looking for a terrific tour with a great tour guide, Jason's your man!
★★★★★
What a cool guy! Not only was he an expert in spotting animals high up in the trees, he was full of knowledge and put a hilarious spin on things. He did such a great job we took him out to lunch after. 5 stars
★★★★★
We had such an amazing time seeing tons of sloths, monkeys and snakes!!!!! Highly recommended! Very knowledgeable!

If you’re interested in birds I’d highly recommend a trip to Esquipulas with Jason! We saw so many species during our half day tour, such as nesting macaws, motmots, manikins, trogons, toucans, aracaris and many more! The location is beautiful and rural and there is plenty of time to observe and capture your shot! When I return to Costa Rica this will be the first tour I book! Highly recommended!

Everything was good! Very recomended, the tour guide was very nice and we had a good time! Definetley i just had to comeback
★★★★★
Our nature tour of Manuel Antonio park was incredible. We saw so much wildlife, but would have missed a lot had it not been for our guide, Jason. He knows what to look for and the right locations. You need a guide like Jason to fully enjoy the experience and save time looking on your own. The capuchins jumping from tree to tree, long distances, was amazing. Also saw howler monkeys, sloths and so much more. Highly recommend this tour and Jason.
★★★★★
Excellent time!!!! Jason was an amazing guide, and was very knowledgable throughout the tour. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does on an everyday basis.
★★★★★
Jason is super knowledgeable, energetic and overall fun! He went out of his way to help us see new species, animals all along giving us new facts and exciting information. We honestly had the best time, it was really a memorable experience for our family!
★★★★★
I went with my mom to see Manuel Antonio Park and we had the best tour guide from the team wakoo tours! The guide that we had is the founder of the wakoo tours, his name is Jason Solano! He is amazing! He is for sure the best guide! He is very professional and he is an expert about nature and animals and all the biosystem of our planet! You can see below some of the photos I took with his telecospe awsome quality! This is some of the animals of many that we saw! ❤️ Gabriela Bonilla-Gauthier
★★★★★
Great experience! Jason was very knowledgable about the animals and nature! (And the tour was actually in February 2019;)
★★★★★
Jason's education, experience, equipment and his energy and passion for sharing his love of the rainforest was beyond our hopes for the tour. Truly amazing.
★★★★★
Our family booked a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park and Jason was our guide. I don’t know how he does it, but he is able to find all kinds of wildlife in the jungle and tree tops that are not easily visible to the average person just walking through. I totally recommend a wildlife tour with Jason and team at Wakoo Tours, you will not be disappointed.
★★★★★
Jason is a good guy and knows where to find the wildlife! We enjoyed it very much and was a great value!
★★★★★
We highly recommend Jason Solano. He is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He genuinely loves what he does, he loves Costa Rica and it’s bio diversity, and he shares this love and passion during the tour.
★★★★★
Jason Solano was one of the best tour guides we have had in our few visits to Costa Rica. We were last there in July of 2018 for our honeymoon and had an amazing experience. His knowledge of bird calls, feeding areas for specific species, and his skills at finding all kinds of life in the open areas and dense cloud forest is unmatched. During our tour, he would assist other nearby viewers or other guides to see some of the rarer things that could change their experience entirely. I believe he did this because of his love for this forest and wanted to share the wonder and importance of the conservation of this area. This is one of the most magical places I have been and I plan to be back soon! A tip for your guided trip: Bring your own binoculars and your camera phone for the amazing shots he is able to get you so you can remember the beautiful diversity and life within the forests.

We were part of a small group that Jason took around Manuel Antonio National Park. We couldn’t believe how much we saw in half a day - sloth, deer, squirrel monkeys, a green parrot snake, the helmeted basilisk, spiders, bats, many frogs (hourglass, tree and gladiator) and too many birds to mention but we really loved seeing the orange chinned parakeet. Jason’s knowledge of the wildlife and ability to spot them is phenomenal - I could see other guides looking to see what had found for his group. He also helps lots to make sure you get great photos of what you’ve seen. And to top it all he’s a really fun friendly bloke who has such a passion for what he does. He’s as excited as his customers to see the wildlife, and that creates so much positive energy. Thanks Jason for creating some awesome memories that we will never forget.

Jason was with another operator when he led our walking tour of Manuel Antonio in early 2018. He's knowledgeable ,outgoing, and super sharp-eyed -- so he finds birds, monkeys, sloths, bugs, plants and more that an inexperienced tourist would miss on their own. Plus, you can shoot photos on your phone through his scope to take home some amazing pictures. I'm going to assume Jason learned well from his time with the other operator and does a great job of pick-up and drop-off at guests' hotels or resorts. Tour guide is the only way to see Manuel Antonio. On your own, the walk is not much. Not really a hiking trail, but a wide, clear, straight path uphill then a turn to the right for a short downhill walk to the beach area (as I recall). There's also a boardwalk adjacent to the main path that I suggest taking on your way back. Most days the path will be crowded as groups stop to look at what their guide has found. But on your own, you'll walk right past a lot of animals and plants, not even knowing they're there.
★★★★★
Jason made our Manuel Antonio tour perfection. If you don't book with him, you'll be missing out. We saw so much wildlife. He was patient and knowledgeable. Jason, best of luck with your new company. We hope to see you again.
★★★★★
Jason was awesome, very knowledgeable about all the wildlife. He pointed out so many things we never would’ve seen with our untrained eyes, this is a cant miss tour, we will definitely do again went back in the area.
★★★★★
An amazing visit to Emanuel Antonio National Park today. Our tour guide was Jason Solano, a very experienced and knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour. Although this is one of the smaller national parks, It’s renowned for its vast diversity of tropical plants and wildlife. Without a quality guide, you will only see a fraction of the wildlife. In our case, we saw both three & two-toed sloths, howler & white-faced capuchin monkeys, many bird species, frogs, bats and many insects... All within a couple of hours.
★★★★★
Originally I didnt know if we wanted to pay extra for a guide in Manuel Antonio, since its possible to walk through the park without a guide. However, 95% of the wildlife we saw in the park was ONLY because of Jason's excellent eye and stellar telescopic lens. Not only did we get to see so much more and in great detail, but Jason's fluent English and vast knowledge base allowed us to learn so much about all the plants and animals we saw. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, I can't recommend anyone more highly, if you are going to Manuel Antonio, you must go with Jason!
★★★★★
Jason was our tour guide many years ago in January 2017, and I felt compelled to support him as he starts his own guided tour company because he was just that awesome! My friend and I were not ready for how many animals we were going to see on this tour. We would walk a few feet and then Jason would spot something that seemed impossible for anyone to see, but I guess his experience has made his eyes sharp because multiple times he would spot a beautiful little insect or a quiet little frog resting somewhere in the dense greenery that surrounded us. I can't remember all the animals we saw (except for some sweet howler monkeys and three-toed sloths), but I remember being very impressed by the amount of animals/creatures we saw and the amount of knowledge Jason had about each one we saw through his scope. I highly recommend Jason for your tour of Manuel Antonio, you won't regret it!
★★★★★
We would not have been able to spot all the animals and insects without Jason. He is knowledgeable and friendly. It was such an enjoyable tour!
★★★★★
Jason treated us to an experience from the first with his spotting of rare birds and the baby sloth. His ability to take pictures and share them was excellent. We will use his service again when we return and I highly recommend him for a great adventure.
★★★★★
Jason is an excellent guide - very patient to show us birds on the 'dream list'; loves to teach and share his passion. He worked very hard to make sure we see some specific birds. He is very knowledgeable and experienced. This is a great location - we saw 65 species (all new to me) including some uncommon species.
★★★★★
We did this tour with our two kids and they loved it. Jason gave us lots of interesting information and was great with the kids, plus the pictures he was able to capture were amazing. Will book with him again if ever we return to Costa Rica.
★★★★★
Highly recommend. Jason was Knowledgeable, personable and courteous. Well worth the fee. Placeholder
★★★★★
We toured Manuel Antonio park and were able to see lots of unique animals. The best part was Jason's telescope that provided up close views and great pictures we were able to keep! Highly recommend
★★★★★
Jason is the Best guide. Explained all the mating habits of wild life viewed in the park. Jason was fun and very knowledgable. Speciality is birdwatching.
★★★★★
This was our first time traveling to Costa Rica and visiting Manuel Antonio Park was a highlight. Jason was our tour guide and he was outstanding. He was very knowledgable of the park and the many animals that lived there. He was very patient with our many questions, and genuinely compassionate about his job. I would definitely recommend signing up for any of his tours.
★★★★★
Went with a small group through Manuel Antonio Park and it was an amazing experience. The guide was knowledgeable and easily spotted long list of wildlife that the park is famous for. White faced Capuchin monkeys, tree sloths, ant armies, deer etc... Also the guide was very informative about all of the different species of animals and plants/trees. Ive been to MA Park before since this is one of my favorite places in the world, but I always hire a guide to the Park, because of their ability to spot wildlife and educate the group about everything we have come across. At the end, we ended up staying at the beach in the park, for remainder of the day. Love the Park, the Tour and Wakoo Tours is a really really good choice! Thank You, till next time (hopefully soon)! Pura Vida!
★★★★★
Jason provided a superb tour of the national forest for our group. He always could spot sleeping sloths high in the trees and other wildlife we, without his aid, would be never able to see. Great guy and great guide.
★★★★★
Jason’s tour included the use of his powerful telescoping lens which allowed us to see many species we otherwise would not have seen. He’s a great guide with a plethora of knowledge! We enjoyed it and learned a lot.
★★★★★
I visited as a small group of friends as part of our self booked road tour of Costa Rica. We happened by chance to book a tour that Jason was leading whilst we were in the Manuel Antonio area and what good fortune it was! We had a brilliant tour with Jason seeing so much wildlife on the day and learnt so much from a very knowledgeable guide who takes time to ensure everyone in the tour group has time to see what they want and makes plenty of time for questions and discussions on the animals you see. Highly recommend as a guide and I will definitely look to book another tour the next time I visit Costa Rica.
★★★★★
We are so pleased we booked this tour of the National Park, without our highly trained guide and the use of his specialist equipment we would have missed so much. I would highly recommend it. The true make of the forest is hidden from the untrained eye and his knowledge/skills are priceless. We were even able to take photos down the lense of his telescope. High light of our stay
★★★★★
Jason was an excellent nature guide. From the beginning he made sure we would be happy and see as much as possible! Amazing talent at spotting and giving us the opportunity to see and understand the animals and plants. Highly recommend!! Our lunch was great as well thank you Jason. Annie & Mike.
★★★★★
A couple years ago, my husband and I booked a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Jason. It was a great experience and the group we were with was small, only six people in total. Jason is very knowledgeable and has a passion for what he does. We saw a large amount of wildlife and we able to take some wonderful photos. If we are to ever return to Costa Rica, we would book another tour with Tio Jason.
★★★★★
Jason gave us a great tour experience. He is great at spotting wildlife. My kids (8 a special 12) really enjoyed it and we got some great pictures.
★★★★★
Jason was our tour guide through Manuel Antonio National Park and he's truly amazing at it. At one point he setup his telescope because he saw something in the distance. It was literally a dragonfly at the very top of a tree over a hundred feet away! At another point he found us a lizard that changes colors to the tree that every other guide was completely missing. And of course countless sloths and monkeys that he was also so knowledgable about. We could also take pretty good photos and videos through his telescope! Attached one of those of a sloth.
★★★★★
My wife and I took an tour thru the Manuel Antonio Park with Jason Solano as our tourguide. Jason was great is spotting even the most well camouflaged animals and could tell a lot about these animals. He is so enthusiastic and friendly that you can not help becoming more and more interested in everything he had to say and the nature in Costa Rica.
★★★★★
Jason was absolutely brilliant. He met us at the gate bright and early and we were first into the park. Jason totally made our experience, he is so knowledgable and such a good spotter and great to hang out with. He took some brilliant photos for us on our phones using his spotting scope. I cannot recommend hike enough.
★★★★★
Jason showed us through the nighttime Mangrove tour and did a great job pointing out difficult to see creatures as well as educating us about the area. We totally support him as he moves to start his own tour company! You're looking for a friendly and fun guide that will take the time to make sure you see details. Jason is the guy for you.
★★★★★
I had a wonderful vacation in Costa Rica in 2017. One of the highlights was a nature tour in Manuel Antonio Park. Jason was the guide. He took time to point out birds, snakes and other interesting forms of nature. He was very knowledge and made the tour fun.
★★★★★
Jason was such an incredible guide during our private tour of Manuel Antonio Park in July 2019. We only had one morning in the Park and it was a perfect tour with Jason. We got to see all of the animals we wanted to (sloths, lizards, snakes) and had a lot of fun with him!
★★★★★
Jason's tour was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica! He is incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife and consistently saw animals the other guides didn't. He's also just a gem of a person!
★★★★★
We were so lucky to happen to have Jason as our guide in Manuel Antonio National Park! His knowledge about the animals and plants was unbelievable!! Without him, we would have walked right through the park and seen only a few animals, but he knew just where to look and we saw so much! We were lucky enough to see an anteater in the middle of the day (they are nocturnal). I would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Costa Rica! He was worth every penny!
★★★★★
On our two week visit in costa Rico we did all of our tours with Jason and his brother Jerima. Both were so informative and professional. We learned and saw so many things. I would more than highly recommend his tour company no matter which tours you choose. Thank you Jason.
★★★★★
With Jason, we saw animals that we could’ve walk beside without ever know. Amazing private tour and highly recommend!!

My husband and I took a tour of the Manuel Antonio National Park with Jason when he worked with a different company in December 2016. I Have to say it wasn’t the tour company that made our experience so wonderful, it was Jason. You know from the very beginning, Jason’s love for Costa Rica, nature, and the wildlife. I can’t begin to express how wonderful Jason was throughout the tour. He is very knowledgeable about the wildlife, plants, trees and the National Park. Jason was always eager to answer any questions in our group, always making sure he spoke in English and Spanish. Jason was VERY patient with those in our group (especially me) when it came to taking pictures. He took the pictures and videos on our cell phones thru his spotting scope whenever we asked. Never rushing any of us until we were done with our picture taking or viewing of the animals or birds. We were in Costa Rica for 15 days and this had been our favorite thing to do. I highly recommend Jason and his new company. You not will be disappointed with Jason as your tour guide on any of his tours. He will make your experience memorable! We are planning another trip to Costa Rica and we will definitely book with Jason!
★★★★★
My husband and I took a tour with Jason over a year ago and just loved it! He had tremendous knowledge, enthusiasm, and a great sense of humor. I would recommend him for any tour you are interested in. You won't be disappointed!
★★★★★
It was one of our last stops after many adventures. Jason took us on a great walk through the park. His expertise and enthusiasm was coupled with his warmth and humor to make for the best guided tour we had in 10 days.
★★★★★
Jason turned this tour into an adventure!! He is extremely knowledgeable, spots animals that others might miss, and makes it fun and personal!!
★★★★★
Fantastic guide! Very person-centered to everyone’s needs. Extremely knowledgeable. He made the trip be extra special.
★★★★★
Jason was an excellent tour guide. On our tour he pointed out sloths, monkeys, many, many rare and different birds, different types of snakes and provided us with a lot of knowledge on the park, it’s flora and fauna. He assisted us with taking photos and provided our group with a monocular so we could get a better view. It was a walking tour, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the park this way. I would highly recommend Jason, and his tours.
★★★★★
Jason pretty much saved our vacation. His tour of the park was top notch and super impressive. It was the best part of of going to Costa Rica.

We had such an amazing time with Jason on our tour of Manuel Antonio! He was great at spotting hidden creatures and we learned so much about every animal we saw! Jason was so friendly and approachable and we had a great afternoon with him! Would highly recommend!

My husband and I went to Costa Rica for our 10 year anniversary and had the pleasure of meeting Jason on a nature tour of Manuel Antonio Park. We found Jason to be knowledgeable in all aspects of the park; including the animals, flora, history etc. He went above and beyond in answering our questions and guiding us to other activities in the area. I would HIGHLY recommendJason’s tour company for your adventures in Costa Rica! Hope to see you again Jason in the future! 😊
★★★★★
Spent the morning/afternoon doing a private tour of Manuel Antonio. Not only was he able to spot things other guides and tourists were walking right by, but he was able to tell us about everything we saw. Helped our daughter find birds in her book and check them off as we found them. Later that day, we were picked up by Jason and we went on a Private Mangrove Tour. This was one of the coolest things we have ever done. We found lizards, birds, crabs and all sorts of things. Spotlight on the boat made it easy to see everything they were showing us. If i am ever lucky enough to return, this will be the first thing i book.
★★★★★
Jason was a excellent tour guide and very knowledgeable about the animals and history of the park. When I go back I will definitely book Jason and Costa Rica Wakoo Tours
★★★★★
Jason was so knowledge. His enthusiasm was infectious! We also took a Night tour with Jason and that was equally as fun as the National Park. Highly recommend
★★★★★
Jason is an outstanding naturalist, with a great sense of humour, sensitivity, and knowledge. Thoroughly dependable. It is well worth paying for his brilliant tours. He lives and breathes nature.......
★★★★★
Three of us went on a private birding tour with Jason. We first went up to Esquipulas from Quepos and then back down south to the El Rey Marshes area. This was our second time birding in Costa Rica and our first time in the Quepos area. We birded for 7 hours and saw many new species: close to 90 overall including 32 new ones for us.Jason is an excellent guide: he knew all of the species we saw and heard; was great at picking out birds in confusing backgrounds at all heights and locations; helped us constantly see what was around; used his scope effectively and this included taking a number of videos with our iPhones; and obviously knew his way around the two areas. We appreciated his descriptions of the sometimes fine details that make the difference between one species and another. We stopped several times to get out and look for birds, on the way to our two destinations. He was indefatigable and was ready to keep going after a very full day, but we finally had to say "uncle." He is also a kick to be around and will not disappoint.
★★★★★
Jason was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He took the time out to answer all questions and allow everyone to see what he was pointing out. Highly recommend.
★★★★★
Jason was an excellent tour guide! My family was very pleased with our experience in Manuel Antonio Park. Jason pointed out animals we never would have seen on our own... even the tiniest rainbow grasshopper! He's a warm and friendly person who takes his time with guests, and he is very knowledgeable about the ecology of Costa Rica. Highly recommended!
★★★★★
This was hands down the best tour guide we never had. Saw so many different species. Highly recommend!
★★★★★
A wonderful experience. This young man is an excellent guide and so knowledgeable. He showed us lots of exciting animals and birds that we would never have seen by ourselves. We took some truly remarkable photos and will always remember the day we spent there. Would love to go back and do it all again. Maybe one day
★★★★★
Awesome experience! Beautiful scenery, wonderful swimming at the waterfall and a delicious lunch in the forest! Jason was an excellent guide and the drives were equally helpful. They attended to our every need and showed us a fantastic time "off the beaten path" with no tourist crowds.
★★★★★
We were so pleased with our tour from Jason/Wakoo Tours. When we arrived at Manuel Antonio, we were leaning towards not using a guide. Thank goodness we ran into Jason at the entrance who showed us the value and offered us a great price. Probably the best guide we have ever had in any trip. If we had gone on our own, we probably wouldn't have seen anything but Jason's trained eyes found us so many animals!! We also learned a ton about the biodiversity and local history. The use of the scope was also so handy as it allowed us to leave with some awesome pictures and video we would not have otherwise gotten. Jason also gave us great tips for the rest of our trip, including helpful info about Corcovado National Park. If we ever return to Costa Rica we will not hesitate to use Wakoo Tours again.
★★★★★
We had a great trip with Jason. 144 species in one day was a great day with quite a few life birds. Jason knew where and when to go, even in the afternoon which is typically not as "birdy". Great lunch at a truly local place too.
★★★★★
Jason was an incredibly knowledgeable naturalist and guide and not only spotted animals and birds we would have walked right past, but had fascinating, in-depth knowledge about anything we were interested in. We enjoyed the forest walk that took us around to the stunning beach bay, and saw spider and howler monkeys, sloths, several creatures I’d never seen or heard of before, and many striking birds and insects. A terrific experience. The park can get very busy so if you want to avoid the crowds, I recommend going off-season. But I highly recommend Jason and his company.
★★★★★
We did a private tour of Manuel Antonio for our group of 9. The park was very full of tourists (note: no snacks allowed in the park, you can buy snacks at a small canteen inside the park), but Jason was able to find us a lot of animals and birds to look at! Big to small, he found it all! Great explanations and great service. We also had a nice swim and a delicious lunch after the tour. We set up all the details via messaging on Facebook, could not have been easier. Payment via PayPal was convenient and safe. Would definitely recommend Jason’s company!

★★★★★
Jordie was a great guide and driver, the 4 by 4 ride was fun and the suspension bridge was breathtaking - literally😁 but totally worth it. Totally doable for all ages, shapes and athletic abilities and we got to swim in a rain forest waterfall😊 bring water shoes for better traction but i did it without and was fine. Eco lodge and solar grill were cool too.
★★★★★
For competitive price, had our own tour guide who was seasoned and customized tour to our preferences. We did not have to compete with all the other tour groups that encroach on area all at same time. Our tour guide found animals other groups missed. He was also very personable, incredibly bright, and we had a great exchange the entire time. Tour ended with an excellent Costa Rica lunch at restaurant on the beach. You will not regret choosing this tour to experience Manuel Antonia Park!
