No — Manuel Antonio National Park has no public information centre that sells tickets or books tours. What exists at the park gate is a SINAC ranger post that validates the QR code on a ticket you already bought online, plus a ranger station used for park operations. It is a checkpoint, not an information desk, and it cannot sell you an entry ticket, answer trip-planning questions at length, or assign you a guide.
This matters because the phrase “information center” appears on several private websites and shopfronts along the Quepos-Manuel Antonio road. Those are tour sales desks. Some are legitimate operators, some are resellers taking a commission on a tour someone else runs. None of them is a government office, and none of them controls park entry.
Park information in Manuel Antonio comes from three real sources, and it is worth knowing which one answers which question:
What no source can tell you in advance is which animals you will see. Manuel Antonio is wild habitat, not a zoo. A good guide dramatically improves your odds of spotting sloths, capuchin monkeys, and toucans because they know where each animal was resting that week — but nobody can promise a specific sighting, and any operator who does is selling you something they cannot deliver.

December 22 and December 29, 2026 are the two that catch the most people, because they fall inside Christmas and New Year travel weeks when visitors assume everything is open. January 5, 2027 catches the New Year crowd on the way home. A private sales desk can sell you a spot on somebody’s tour on the spot, but in late December and early January this is the worst way to buy. Guide availability at 7:00 a.m. departures during Christmas and New Year weeks is gone days ahead, and what remains on a walk-in basis is a late start on a crowded trail — the exact conditions that make people feel the park was overrated.
The other problem is that walk-in booking happens after you have already needed a park ticket. Since SINAC entry cannot be bought at the gate, arriving in town with no reservation and hoping a desk sorts it out leaves you dependent on whatever that desk can find.
